I have laid down a motorcycle more than once.. pushing it to the limits.. but was wearing the appropriate gear.

My Cafe'd DOHC CB-750 tried kill me twice . My Zook GSX blew up when I missed a shift at 120.

Problem is....I have no fear when it comes to the "speed demon" rush.
My 1100 gains my respect... so far.

I've been called crazy by many, free climbing, car racing (not the legal kind), all in my youth but this sidecar stuff... it takes a special kind of crazy!

Respect to those who do it, but I'll just watch

I have used 4 of my 9 lives on snowmobiles, and a few more in automobiles.

I never feel more alive than after a good adrenaline rush from a near death experience (easily obtained from motorcycles). Now I'm old and it's been a while and I sort of miss it.

Motorcycles and trees didn't quite work for me in my younger days but bulldozers and running with the devil did because the trees got out of the way real quick. My worn out body just has to settle for watching the rest of the crazies go for it.

Sometime around 1982 a "Blue Hair" crossed the centerline on a curve and caused me to lay-down.
Cracked my helmet against the curb and still have "road rash" scars on my right knee and elbow ... every since then I have worn full gear when I ride.
That was the ATGATT coment .

When I was a club racer I had to buy a one piece suit of racing leathers. I got a custom suit of Fox leathers in the closet still with 22” of the left leg slit and repaired where the paramedics had to cut me out of them. They were worth every dime I paid for them. I keep them and the Bell full face helmet with the mangled face guard and the crack to remind me.

Those days are behind me but I still dream of lofting the front end over Balaugh bridge and “turning a proper ton” at the TT.

I’m thinking about going to Tank Fest 2025 at Bovington Dorset in June. I might have to slip in a trip to the Isle of Man.

I sold the bike shortly after I got married. I was never a real speed demon though. I love watching those side car racers. The passengers are friggin nuts.

I'd love to go to Bovington but all the walking and standing around at a museum would be brutal. World of Tanks really got my armored vehicle interest going.

Mike doctors have a term for motorcyclists: organ donors. I love watching dash cam videos of them racing but while being a adrenaline junkie myself a man's gotta know his limitations as ol' Clint said back in the day. Some on the Isle of Man found theirs the hard way and wound up kibbles and bits. That new 1000hp+ battery powered 4 door Porsche that will do 60mph in 2.2 seconds would be fun but I don't have $235k+ lying around to blow on it.

LOL! My orthopedic surgeon referred to them as “Murdercycles”. I have to admit that I limp and I can blame a lot of my aches and ills today on bikes. But in my defense crashing Bicycles did as much damage as crashing motorcycles!
I wasn’t much of a club racer. I never won a race. I was happy to not be a back marker or get lapped. If I passed somebody Woo Hoo! I’d be stoked for the next week!
