I just got done doing some basic accuracy tests with the 3 pistols.
A 1977 38T, a 1985 357, and a 1989 powerline 44.


The 38T shot the best overall, using the H&N excite hammer.
Next was the Daisy 44 , and the 357.
The 38T shot terribly with my standard CPHP's, the Daisy 44 a little better, and minus 1 flyer the 357 actually seems to love the CPHP'S.

Interesting. I have been curious about this. Thank you for testing! A 38 or 44 may have to go on the look out for list.

I'm glad my basic test can prove useful.
Next I may have to see what the 6" barrel does.

The 44 is harder to find on Ebay,  but the 38T is pretty common and easy to get.
I was thinking about looking for an early example in. 22 but since Ebay will no longer allow airgun sales to my state it'll take longer to find one.
I wasn't planning to get serious about looking right away anyways.

I did some more testing with the model 44 because I forgot that I had bought one of those daisy 3 pellet assortments at TSC recently.
None of those pellets were very impressive,  so for fun I decided to try some of the old Daisy wadcutters that came with it and it actually shoots them better than anything I've tried so far.
I was pretty surprised because the skirts aren't all that consistent,  I think they're just really soft lead which the bore likes.

Who knew a gun would actually prefer the pellets that came with it.
It's too bad they're nearly 40 years old and you can't get them anymore
