EDC KNIFE SUGGESTIONS

So I’m looking for a good EDC knife anyone have any suggestions? Something less than $75 so if I lose it I won’t sweat it too much. Thanks

Can you give a little more info? I carry three knives everyday and one most of the time, One in my get home bag, one on my belt, one in my pocket, and one in my car.
What you do everyday makes a difference. My sons both carry multiple knives as well, but they have different jobs and travel different distances in their vehicles daily so have different get home requirements.

Botach sells them at a very decent price: their own site, on Amazon, and on Ebay.

They’re made in the USA.

thought EDC was a commonly used acronym but it stands for every day carry, I heard it on YouTube primarily. I didn’t even think about the use of the knife. I can’t even think of the scenario lol. Right now I have a folding Husky box cutter which works well

What are you looking for ?
Size range, number of blades, pocket clip or not, one hand opening or two hand opening, slipjoint  or something that locks,  what type of lock ...etc


I only carry traditional 2 handed knives with multiple blades, but  the Buck spitfire is an excellent American made knife at a price that doesn't break the bank.

I’ll probably order a Kershaw Leek or a Buck Spitfire for myself as I only have a Swiss in my bag.

They’re both made here and smallish, which is how I like them to be.

I carried a Kershaw Skyline in my pocket, the original US made one and not the smaller made in China version, but lost both of them, one after the other.

Nice, slim, sharp, and they were less than $50 each when I bought them.

 Spyderco Delica and Endura are good, but the prices have really jumped on those.

 I personally avoid buying knives on Amazon and Ebay, both are know for counterfeit knives. I got a fake Spyderco Delica from Amazon a couple years back. YMMV.

 More complicated than airguns, wait till you read on the steel types, there is Alot of different steel used in blades. The handles and scales come in many forms each with it's own advantages disadvantages, I have more than 100 knives enough that some I have not used though have handled or carried.
 While different settings require different setups, inside pants I wear 1 or 2 lightweight knives. Outside pants or snow pants the knife has to have cold resistant handles, anything non metal will work - G10, Micarta, ABS, Polymer, wood. Being exposed to temps of 0°F or lower in the winter it is better for me to carry a low costing knife for cold time such as now < 0°F.
  In tundra, a longer 4" folder or longer along with a fixed blade and a sacrifice knife is what I would carry. Sacrifice knife is one that is lower costing lightweight easy to sharpen resharpen and is used when you don't want to muck up your nicer knife..In city or where I am likely to be in a car, the knife has to have a glass breaker. Back home it is highly unlikely I would be in a car so a glass hammer or glass breaker is not required.

My favorite is the Leatherman Skeletool CX. Half the size of a leatherman, but has the 3 tools I most use - Blade, Screwdriver (straight and phillips) and pliers.
Knife blade is 1 hand opening. It replaced my Benchmade about 6 months ago. If you like a combo (serrated/straight) blade the original Skeletool can be had for like $15 less.

Just picked up another Kizer knife - Nice Guy model w/ Nitro V Blade+Richlite Handle.
$39 on Amazon currently. 

Civivi baby banter knife has also been a good edc that won’t make me cry if I lose it somewhere.  $29 on Amazon currently.

If you have any stores near you that has a knife case, go see what you can check out and see how they feel in the hand.  And one more thing, check local/state laws on blade length.

It probably won’t be the last knife you’ll ever buy. They’re like airguns. There is no perfect ONE, but you'll keep searching for it.

Seems awfully cheap for a Spyderco.

I have a plethora of knives. I can't bring myself to using the pricy ones, so my edc are always Walmart cheapies, nowadays. I've yet had a $5-$20 pocket knife fail to get the job done and break on me. Of course, I'm also not using my pocket knives to pry open car doors or anything to that extreme.
This has been my new edc. I have 4 of them just because they work for what I need them for, and my favorite feature is that I can easily open and close them with just one hand! Less than $10 each, so why not get more than one!

The Spyderco value series is an excellent choice.  Built well, solid name, does not break the bank.  I have two of the Spyderco Tenacious folders from that line.  They are a regular player in my EDC routine.

This is from Spyderco’s “value series”.  They are made in China, not the USA.  That is why they are less expensive.  Still they pack a lot of value in their smaller price tag.  Certainly no slouches in the pocket knife world. 

One is none and two is one!  Good reason to have more if possible.
