JTS Airacuda "Custom" build and heavily modified One Of a Kind !

   This started out @ 3 years ago as a Pre-production AIRACUDA "STANDARD" "Test Rifle" that was shared a bit back then as we documented & shared the meat & potatoes of what these rifles were inside as well out here on GTA threads as well the JTS facebook page.
Over these last several years the internals got massaged / changed up with valve mods, hammer mods and an SSG devise.  Entire action blue printed with fit and smoothness vastly improved with a regulator & custom plenum added to this Non factory Regulated version of the Airacuda rifle.
Along the way near 2 years ago was able to acquire an action less DIANA 75 stock, which then I inletted to have the action drop in placing trigger and air tube well down within this stock looking dang near factory.
Removed the factory barrel & shroud and played with a KARMA .22 cal test barrel for about a year ... Just pulled it replacing with a Rapid Air Werks ( RAW ) cut rifling blank at @ 23" length.
JSAR style air stripper at muzzle allowed a full length shroud tensioning barrel within ( Barrel stretched ) It adds some noise help & if wanting really quiet screw on a moderator.

It shoots FANTASTIC being silly accurate, fairly quiet w/o an LDC, great efficiency yielding @ 50 regulated shots on a 3K fill to @ 1.7k set point. JSB 15.9's @ 960 & 18.1's @ 920  (31-34 fpe )

Current optics a AZTEC Emerald 3-15x50 ssp on a LOW 30moa cantilever mount to get optic forward for correct eye relief due to the stocks short LOP specification.
All said and done these past 3 years or so ... quite the rig as it is very much so a One Of A Kind and likely the only Airacuda in the world reworked to this extent

Scott your builds are out of this world and your craftsmanship is second to none. I really like how you set it so low in the stock. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with one of mine. It's nice to see you actually do it. What did you do to the valve to make it flow so efficient?

Peek poppet, cobra chamber, heavier preload on poppet spring.  Then the rifle has a lighter hammer than production rifle come with.  Custom SSG devise so zero hammer bounce.
Regulated on a fairly small plenum.
All said a very efficient combination.

All i have ...

Started with a precision cut and square section of hard wood @ 16" long.
Stock was placed resting on the bottom being squared up end to end being precisely parallel to this board.  The main anchor screw hole and several more down the length of stock used to screw the stock down snug to the board.
Board then placed in the milling machine vice and time spent tilting the board to have the existing action channel leveled up.  Side to side center located to maintain the new cut follows the old, tho dimensions changing.    Then all firmly clamped down making sure the stock was VERY rigid and not going to move about.

Using a 1 1/4" "Corebox" cutter it gets run end to end, back & forth taking small cuts that after a bit has the original in-letting of channel taking on the new profile.
* Had previously measured how deep the new channel would need to go stopping just shy.  Place the airacuda action into stock measuring how much further the trigger group needed to drop to flush up with top of trigger area.  That known continued deepening channel until at final depth required.
Bit of hand clean up to make sure action now rests against wood full length & trigger block has clearance etc ....

Then spent some time cutting and reshaping the stocks plastic trigger guard to go around and nicely trim the JTS built in guard.

It is really a job that happens with seat of your pants intuition, mechanical common sense and making sure cuts about to happen are measured well, thought threw before doing.
