1322 hing pin slop.

I know I have a FT piston so it puts more stress on everything, but my 1322 pistol is only like a month old and I've noticed the thing pin moves when the pump are is extended and doesn't have any pressure on it, move it forward and back a little and see the pin screw head move, any tricks to fix this short of silver soldering a washer on the outside and get a longer pin or something other than a new tube.
Could a new tube be heat treated to be tougher  ?

When I say heat treat I mean just the front at the pin holes.

.191 front to back and .187 up and down is the measurements I got.
Definitely starting to egg out, I've ordered some 7/32 steel rod (.218 dia) to make hammer pins with, may try and make a solid over sized hing pin.

You can even pin your valves.

I did mine top and bottom, so they’re hidden by the breech and/or trigger frame.

 I have the older hex head on mine and it is well made.
But if your hole is wollowed out it may not fix your issue.

I'm looking into bronze bushings, idea would be to drill the tube barrel band out, put the piston in, barrel band and install the bushings and slide in the solid pin, may need to use a washer.. replace the bushings from time to time ..
Or curve a washer the Sam as the tube, heat treat it, solder it in place, now the tube is double thick in the pin hole area ?
The older 1322 tube I got doesn't have this problem, and it's very used.. better metal plus factory cup I bet.

So far I just cheaped out and went with a roll spring pin, not the C shaped one but the rolled up one, they compress better and don't help hog out the hole.
Totally tightened it up and should last a while, after this I will have to come up with one of the ideas above or a new tube.
To bad someone doesn't make one out of CM steel..
Seems the older heavy stamped tube I got is way better than these new ones. May also look into making a steel end plug for the pistol and add an extra set of screws like what's his name did, but only my pistol doesn't have a barrel band as it has a free float barrel..

Cost me P1,200.00 in Philippine money or about $21.00.

My 1986 1377 is as good as the day it was made. No telling how many pumps. It survived me and 3 boys.

In 2000 I purchased a 1300 from the custom shop. 5000 pumps and it was all junk. I put bushings in some of the wollered out holes, but couldn’t fix all of them.

It’s Walther barrel lives on in another.

   Charles Mellon O1 tool steel solid pump pins with bushing donut that takes up the side-to-side slop comes with either C clips or O ring retainers are the best I have found.  You drill to 7/32" through the pump arm not the tube for the bushings.  Makes the pumping smoother with less wear on the tube holes. I really hate split pins and change them out on all my pumpers.

I don’t have a Mellon pin and washer combo, but I did put 2 flat washers between those tines to make up for the lack of thickness.

Worked great and rid the AG of the irritating side to side slop.

As I remember, I lapped both to fit as it was a bit too tight

IIRIC, I had the degree (26.6) for the swing increased by another 2 degrees but I’m not too certain.

It was made by, the drawings, JMJ in NC (John).

  That barrel band looks like my anodized aluminum one I got years ago from Blue Fork Design.  It is so much better than the plastic ones and the set screw through the front holds the pivot pin instead of C clips.  I wish I had bought several as they are no longer being made as far as I know.

Yes, they were available through HPA Sports for a while, them triggers, plugs, barrel bands, and sights.

I think it was in operation for about 3 or so years, then Joe M. closed shop.

I much prefer them in stainless steel though.

I have no idea how much that machine shop in the Philippines will charge me today for a plug; had mine done in 2012, if my memory serves me right.

The stainless barrel band at that time was about $10 more.

My plug was a 1 of a kind, hence quite expensive (?).

By the way, the milled section for the pump lever cutout wasn’t milled at all but cut by a CNC plasma cutter of some sort judging by the textured look on that section; I like the look, really.

Been waiting on the Maverick with the fiber optic to come back in stock for a awhile now.
I like that SS end plug..
I got some delrin coming so I may try and make one from that to start with.
