I'd be surprised if any budget friendly plinking pistol was a better deal than a P-17 although loading it is a bit of a fumble. Prices have gone up but they are in the same range as the AGs you mentioned. Sticking with your question, I don't have any of them.
Have any of you bit the bullet on one of these budget friendly plinking pistols yet ?It sure seems like a much much better value than the Buckmark and Ruger mk4, the adjustable sights are about the only thing I like about my Mk4.The markpoint I just ordered was $34 + tax & shipping was $47, that ruger cost me about $50+tax & shipping a couple years sho.If the trigger on the markpoint can be improved to a usable degree I might actually want to cut the rear sight off and epoxy on something adjustable.I'm going to start looking into what can be done to them.

It was on this morning.
Amazon delivered my Markpoint on Friday. I immediately opened it up and loaded a pellet. Pulled the trigger and an internal noise was made, but nothing came through the barrel. Broke the barrel open and the pellet was still in there. Tried a few more times, and then black plastic parts started falling out of the gun. Got on phone and started a return to Amazon! Replacement should be here tomorrow. I did like the weight and feel of the gun. Cocking took minimal effort. The open sight looks terrible to aim through, but at the low price range, it's not a deal breaker........as long as there's decent accuracy. I'll have to wait a bit longer to see. Also, a couple of weeks ago, I picked up the Ruger MK4 at Tractor Supply. I rather like this gun. Not a good trigger, but the gun is fairly accurate. I don't care for the placement of the safety. As when it's in the firing position, it's up against my right thumb which is rather uncomfortable. Not a deal breaker though.

I just received mine, and it certainly seems to have a decent barrel on it.The trigger is the worst thing I've ever experienced and the large blocks grip doesn't help with that.So far I don't really hate this pistol, I'm hopeful that a drastic trigger improvement can be discovered for these.

I saw that video and it's kind of useless, because he didn't do anything to adress the biggest issue with this trigger which is the pull weight.Making those minor changes he made are like putting lipstick on a pig.The best thing you can do is shorten the trigger return spring here.Just enough to take out the pre-load on this spring, it'll still return the trigger. If I had one I'd replace it with a lighter weight spring of the same size, because it is still responsible for most of the trigger weight.Doing this shouldn't have much effect on safety because the Sears have their own springs.I have no way measure, but it had to be around 10lb before and has gotta be maybe 56lb now.I also smoothed/ polished the sear points ( no angles were changed), and greased everything.
Found this much clearer video by searching "Umarex SPA 60" on the youtube.Reeves's channel has a few vids on the Markpoint-SPA 60 and adjusting the trigger. I found a much lighter spring for the trigger bar return position. It might be a firing pin safety plunger spring from a series 80 Colt, I'm not absolutey sure... The trigger is better with the lighter spring and minor polishing, but I'm not finished yet. Good Luck!
