Still in hospital....Good news is I didn't have a stroke. 1▪︎ I had very high blood pressure, 2▪︎ my triglycerides were dangerously high, and my3▪︎ blood glucose level was very high. My A1C was 12.9.So I'm now a diabetic. An insulin dependent diabetic. Hopefully I'll be receiving diabetic training tomorrow morning and later tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday morning I'll be discharged. The doctor thinks the combination of all three caused my vision anomalies.

The doctor thinks the combination of all three caused my vision anomalies. That trio is called metabolic syndrome, if I remember correctly. All bad stuff, but at least you found out what was going on and it was not a stroke. An a1c of 12.9 is very high, but is it too far gone to make drastic changes to diet, to avoid going on insulin? This is worth asking the doctor--or several doctors. You'll probably be told to reduce carbs (especially refined carbs), saturated fats, sodium, possibly calories in general. More fiber, too. Unless you already exercise a lot, "they" will encourage that as well.Good luck with the next steps!
