Knee replacement

Well I got a total new knee replacement of my right knee on Wednesday and so far I feel great. It was a big deal tho according to all of the doctors and nurses I talked to. Left knee is next probably in June.

 Congrats! my wife had her second on Dec 23rd, (at 73) and she's doing fine.
 Make sure to do ALL the PT they give you.

Congratulations Jim,
I have never had a knee surgery but no doubt one is in my future. Several friends have had theirs replaced and there is a common theme between all of them. The ones who followed doctors orders and did PT and exercise came out fine, a few decided it was to much work and discomfort to deal with and are in worst shape then before the surgery. Hang in there and GET WELL SOON!

Right on, Jim.  Take it easy the first 3 or so weeks, then follow PT verbatim.  My FiL jumped right back to work and it delayed healing several months, but he eased back, followed the therapist\s guidance, and he's moving better than he has in more than a decade.  Will he go cross-country skiing or jogging again?  Nope.  But he can get up and down ladders and is able to do things he couldn't for the last decade.

So far no pain and the pain pills that I'm suppose to take every six hours I'm taking every 12 hours. I had a "buddy" tell me that the first two weeks would be horrible but I've been home almost 4 days now and I still feel great!
