Marauder Pistol

i finally got some time to set up my Prod and shoot it. Filled it to 2600 psi and shot it down to 1500. Filled it again and sighted it in. Everything is stock, except for the Jim Gaska shroud. The scope is a Hawke Airmax EV 4-12x50 AO. I set up the target at 25 yards. First shot was way off center. Shot/adjusted until I got close to the bull. Shot a few more shots until I got one to hit close to the center of the bull. Then I took one shot at each of the 1" black dots at the top. I'm going to take it in the field before I do any more adjusting. The pellets I used were H&N FTT 14.6. They were washed and lubed with Easy Lube

The shots to the left have been adjusted. The final shot is the one that is almost dead center. I didn't shoot a group, I adjusted the scope after each shot

oh good deal.. thats how i sight in my scopes.. one shot per spot untill im shooting dead center of the cross hairs and then i move onto groups for pellet testing

Looks like I won't be doing any adjusting. Got a starling at 21 yards and one at 30 yards. The Gaska extension makes the Prod really quiet.

Nice P-Rod! And it looks like you've got it shooting right on.

 I guess that will have to be next on my list to complete my M-Rod/P-rod collection . I've got the .22 M-Rod and the .25 M-Rod should arrive tomorrow. Maybe in 6 months or so I'll add the P-Rod and my "turn to the Darkside will be complete!"

Nice prod. Looks just like mine cept I have the Sport HD 2x7 on it. 14.6 FTT's work great too.

Are you using the 5.54-5.55 head FTT's? Mine wouldn't group with anything but those. Got sick of the find and seek for who had them in stock, so I put a LW barrel in. Now it shoots tinned CPHP's from wally close to that. The barrel had tooling chatter marks down the rifling so bad, it looked like a twisted tire tread.

Thanks guys, I plan to take the Prod with me when I go bass fishing. There are lots of pine trees in the coves and they're loaded with squirrels. The season doesn't end until January 29th. The 17cf 4500psi Guppy from Joe Brancato will fill the Prod about 45 times, so I will have plenty of air. The Prod will fit in my rod locker.

Have you guys with the Prod try the double gold pellets?  Ted said they were the best in the Prod he did the review for.  I'm wondering because their very very accurate in my Disco.

The H&N's are the only pellets I've shot so far. Who makes the double gold pellets you are using?

I bought some double gold in the .177 and they were so tight fit in my .177 marauder that you have to tap the bolt to get it in.  I'm sure the .22 double gold must be veyr tight fit also. more then 5.55mm ftt which I'm using now.  but double gold is $28 per 500 compare to FTT at $14.5.  who wants to paid double the cost for a little accuracy?  maybe for those 100 yards shot.  here is the links.

I've used Beeman FTS and Beeman FTS double gold in my .20 R9. I've also used H&N FTT. All three have almost the same accuracy, as the Beeman's are the same pellet as the H&N. As Eddie said, the FTT's are a lot cheaper. There is not enough difference in accuracy to me to justify the cost of the gold pellets

Yeah but gold looks really cool.  In my discovery, the Barracuda Gold really are most accurate out of the 6 barracuda pellets 2nd best is the Barracuda Hunters The FTT's any size dont work for the disco.

Anyway it sounds like you guys haven't tested them in the Prod.  No big deal.  I plan I getting a Prod soon and was wondering if these gold pellets are as good as Ted says.
