Soft touch coating removal?

Looking to strip the soft touch coating off an old FX. It has not yet gone totally sticky but would like to get it removed before it does.

Any of you successfully removed this stuff?

Wild, if you or someone finds out what to do for that please post it here! I have other rubberized appliances that have gone "sticky" too.....

I have a spotting scope that is all thhhhtikky.

I deployed my alchemy skills numerous times to no avail. In this case I may move more physical measures.

To remove a sticky soft touch coating, the most effective method is to use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), applying it with a cloth and gently rubbing the surface until the sticky residue is removed; you may need to repeat this process several times depending on how heavily the coating has degraded

Philip, I tried the rubbing alcohol wiping but only did a couple of passes.....maybe 5 or may be needed.....I might try this again this weekend.....thank you!

I had a rifle scope that went sticky on me a while back.  Tried most of the the solutions above with no luck.  Finally decided to pull out the heavy artillery and went right to Acetone and removed the coating entirely.  Where gloves and use lots of papertowels... Don't do it in an enclosed area or near open flames and be sure to properly dispose of anything with the acetone on it as it is very flamable.
