362 100 year conversion

The barrel on my 100 yr 362 is a bad barrel.  Otherwise, I like the gun a lot.  Not much of a pumper guy. Haven't done much with them internally except a little dabbling with the dragonfly mk1.

To make a .177 conversion, what barrel and probe do I need to get?  The breech on the 362 100 yr is custom for the peep sight, so to keep the breech but go .177 I would need to only change the probe.  Plus a good barrel.

Is this doable? What parts do I need and does anybody have extras or a parts number for me to get from Crosman, if that's even still possible?

  They may be hard to find anymore but I used a Crosman barrel from a 1760 rifle and a 177 flow through Crosman bolt from Mellon air.  They are a perfect fit on my 362 rifle. The 1760 CO2 rifle was discontinued a while ago, but barrels are sometimes show up for sale if you do a search.  The Discovery .177 barrel would work too but also harder to find now.  A lot of vendors used to sell the barrels, but supplies seem to have dried up for a standard Crosman drop in barrel without getting a more expensive custom one.

I’d go for a Lothar to ensure accuracy.

They’re expensive though: more than $200 from Roy of Mountain Airguns, and there’s the LW MROD barrel that needs leade work to fit the
22xx/13xx breech.

I missed out on Airgun Revision’s MROD LW barrels; he had them in stock but was no more a week after I checked them out again. I would have asked him to machine one to fit the 22xx/13xx breech.

Check with Nick at Alliance hobby on the Disco .177 barrel. He had them when I did my conversion (last year) and may still have some.

I see a basic kit at Alliance Hobby for $60 for a .177 conversion. My barrel is so bad, it's hard to imagine even a non LW barrel being any worse.  The probe looks silver instead of brass, which might take away from the aesthetic.  But hey, it'd be usable. Can't have it all on a budget. Maybe I'll email to see if there's a brass one.  Looks like discount is a thing with them. If us GTA folks get a discount, will someone PM it to me?

I’d do the brass screw recrowning on that bad barrel of yours first before buying a replacement.

Also, hone the leade and check the transfer port for burrs; all these can be done using sandpaper and a rod or skewer. This method did wonders to my 1701P LW barrel 👍

The barrel gets very tight in the middle, which I know from cleaning it.  I assume this is the main issue.  I'll double check the crown, but I remember it not being too bad and no major burrs.

Yeah, that needs to be replaced, but I’d polish the bore were it mine.

If you decide to go this route, send him a message and verify that he still has them in stock. People were searching high and low for these barrels and he was pretty much the only one who had them when I ordered mine last June. The one I got from him gave me 1/2" or less accuracy at 25 yards. Very happy with it! 

It is a shame to hear that an anniversary edition 362 had a barrel accuracy issue. My original 362 barrel had a shot gun pattern of about 4 inches at 25 yards. It was horrible! burr in the leade, the crown, and the TP opening. Wasn't worth messing with, I scrapped it.

Lots of Ceosman brass parts to order from.

Ordered some from the UK today.

They were just $62 including shipping; much cheaper for a set than individualized 👍

I don’t seem to have a brass-inspired Crosman in the US, so 🥴

Too many parts for another build or 2 

Anyway, check them out as they’re really affordable, and their reviews in the UK
are commendable as well 👍
