I need information on Crosman rifle barrels. Specifically the rifle barrels for the 2260, Discovery, and Maximus in .22 caliber. This being the case due to a certain cockup in the lathe machine. Here are the subject barrel numbers and certain notations:2260 2260-003 (2260, 7-2260) ←- no idea about the numbers in parenthesesDiscovery 2260SE-001 ← bare barre, no sight or sleeveMaximus 6-GBMP22-001 ← bare barrel, no adapterI have built many 22xx pistols and carbines, so have a reasonable knowledge base, and expect the subject barrels are part of the Crosman lego airgun family. I also have knowledge of the Crosman steel breech family; long, short, forward and rearward 4-48 machine screw locations. I also am familiar with the Crosman EVP’s.But I have limited knowledge of the Discovery rifle; specifically the barrel sleeve and its fitment to the Discovery rifle and its breech. Here are some related Discovery and Maximus part numbers:Discovery Breech – 1761-019Discovery Sleeve — 1761-013Maximus Breech — AS2250 -025My main question is related to the Discovery barrel sleeve and breech since the Discovery breech is a unique part number (I know all the other Crosman steel breech numbers). Is the sleeve simply over the barrel or does it fit into the breech a short distance?TIA!!!
The sleeve fits in the breech a bit on the stock factory part.
The sleeve is just above the logo in the pic you posted. It basically provides mounting for the rear sight. I don't really see any other useful purpose for it.

The Disco breeches I have are different from the regular steel breech as they have the small 4-48 breech screw under the bolt and have the slight recessed area where the barrel enters for the sleeve to set into. I use both type breeches on 2260 and Disco tubes with no problem except having to drill and tap for a rear mount 4-48 screw if the tube only has the front location. My Disco tubes have both holes drilled but only the rear is tapped. If using a regular breech on a Disco tube it is easy to run a 4-48 tap into the already drilled front hole. The Disco tubes I have are older ones so I dont know if the later ones or Maximus are drilled for both locations. I think the Disco barrels have a flat spot milled for the sleeve set screw to tighten on. All my barrels are 2260,1760 or 362 so I have not seen one for sure.

When using the rear breech screw you'll also need to use the notched hammer to clear the screw.
When referring to the sleeve, is this what you're talking about?Just curious

The Maximus is still available from Balistas in the Czech Rep for $380 shipped. They ship pretty fast; takes about 5 days for you to literally hold it.

Quote from: Hoosier Daddy on January 27, 2025, 01:46:33 PMNotice the photo of the sleeve is in fact on a Maximus... mine has it as well. So it is not only a Disco item.My Maxius (Hunter version) does not have the sleeve. It has the AS2250 breech. Perhaps due the included scope (serviceable but low quality).Edit:I have looked at Maximus EVP's and OM's on Crosman.com and cannot find a Maximus with the sleeve. May be an EVP or OM with the sleeve, the sort of the documents on the website is not ideal - there may be one I have not seen.I noted Maximus models with open sights show the rear site screwed directly to the barrel. Hunters and Euros do not have sights, rather the dittzy moderator adapters.
