FedEx just updated the tracking to show eta Tuesday 2/25.
I suppose I need to round up a scope and rings and cast, cull and weigh some pellets. I also have boat tails to try.
Better check the batteries in the chrono too.

That's the one I've been referring to and ordered.
As for backyard friendly... I live in the backwoods of lower Alabama.. a Howitzer would be backyard friendly here..

Since I was brought up shooting the long gun, took awhile for me to even adjust to the Bullpup

Guess it's me in question on this modern day tactical single shot air rifle

border line basement friendly impacts are about equal to the blast. Buck Rail has something with that thread size that would make you look if the gun even fired though

I believe I read that the moderator is oversized... Maybe a new stack would make it more efficient.. Supposedly mine should be here today, after beating around Fedup for over a week... I hope it isn't to beat-up.. If it is, it will go back.... Not happy with the shipping!!

I am mildly concerned about this cheap AF copy's 6061 aluminum air tank. I hope it has an appropriate safety factor for the rated pressure. Aluminum is not like steel, in that it fatigues at well below the yield stress.

The GTA folks that made aluminum air tanks for PCPs liked to use 2024 Al because it is stronger and only slightly heavier that 6061. I assume the 6063 aluminum is used for the frame and rail of the PCP. No worries there, but 6063 has half the strength of 6061.

I wonder if Lloyd Sykes would be willing to hydro test an unused air tank form one of these AF copies to bursting pressure with oil or water, to see if it has the required factor of safety?

Any concerns about the 7075 aluminum on the rifle and bullpup?

It might help to first find out who actually manufactures these guns. I am about 90% certain they are made in the Artemis Snowpeak factory, but I do not know for sure. I have asked the Chilean airgun distributor Defensor Forever the question of who actually makes the QM22 and QM23 guns they sold and am waiting for an answer. Strangely they no longer sell the QM23 but do sell the QM22 and QL001, which is a tactical synthetic stock version of the P-Rifle. Maybe this is related to Snowpeak not making the P15/P35 guns any longer, having now replaced them with the new P35X-TB bottle gun. So far all I know is Pinty does not make the guns and Defensor Forever does not make them.

If it does turn out to be Artemis Snowpeak that actually makes these things at the Shaoxing Snow peak Air Gun Factory , then I would not worry too much about the air tanks since they have been doing this for many years.

By the way here is the P35X-TB with it's 600cc bottle good for 100 shots in .25 cal. at 950 fps. It appears that it comes in 4 different calibers. .177, .22, .25 and one not listed, though they do list the 4 different max fps speeds: 1000/1100/950/850fps. Hopefully it is a 9mm.

The bottle is marked with test pressure of 30mpa which is just over 6500psi. We'll never know if they actually did that but i feel 100% safe filling to 3650psi.

If Snowpeak made these AF copies I feel better, because they have a good reputation to protect.

The question is if that reputation is founded on steel air tanks, or have they made aluminum tanks for some time, without trouble? If they are new at aluminum tanks, have they taken into account the unfriendly fatigue properties of aluminum, compared to steel. Rhetorical questions, all.

7075 aluminum is twice as strong as 6061, but whether the design is "good" depends on the details. I don't know the details of the bullpup mentioned, so can't comment.

The reason why I brought this up is because your face is against the tank when you shoot this AF PCP copy. I would rather lose a finger tip than an eye...
