Bad Benjamin Valve Stems??

I resealed a Benjamin Franklin....... like 347 or 342
It immediately leaked out the exhaust port.
I noticed that the metal stem to poppet joint is loose............hmmmmmmm
So, I installed another new stem....this one also has a loose poppet.stem; it also leaked....
I installed a THIRD stem, also has a loose joint; it ALSO leaks........
I think I am starting to see a pattern here....

For the heck of it, I installed a used stem........tight poppet on stem...... NO LEAKS.....

Anyone come across this lately??

Hmm, not clear to me about stem to poppet joint, like does the stem have some play in the brass seat?  But what I have noticed that the synthetic seal material is not evenly crimped into the brass.  Check valves are like that too.

I refer to the poppet as the brass head with the polymer seal.
The stem is the steel shaft that is inserted into the poppet head and should
probably be crimped to secure the 2 pieces together.
This joint is not solid...the poppet can wiggle and twist in the stem.
Probably not good.......

I have applied a drop of super glue at the center where the stem goes thru the seal.......
I am hoping that capillary action will wick the SG into the joint and seal it.
But, even if it works in the short term, I do not know how much confidence to have that
it is a long term solution.......

I have been told that there is another stem out there that can substitute for the Benjy part.

I think I stumbled on a comment yesterday that the Benjamin discovery poppet matches some older valves except for length of stem. So it has to be cut down and the end chamfered.

I'm needing at least one poppet so far as I work through some older airguns I'd set aside, so I've been researching...

It was a marauder for an Mk1, please post your findings?

So, are these valve stems the manufacturers part, ordered directly from Crosman?  If so, I'd ask for a refund or replacement.  They need to know they're selling bad parts.
