Really folks, I’ve seen this more than once. It’s a young black bear. They do this.
Young bears rip big limbs off and throw sticks at people? Maybe tree in vid is small but dude said was big limbs that would take 2 minutes to saw through. Even if limbs were actually smaller than dude said bears don't toss sticks at people that I know of.

Been there. You should see a Live Oak tree after a juvenile bear has "played" in it for a couple of nights. Bears are a lot stronger than humans and yes they can rip limbs as thick as your arm off a tree. As to throwing limbs I think that is just hyperbole. When they do this leaves branches and acorns just rain down!As a park ranger for over twenty five years I have seen wildlife do some pretty "Wild" stuff. This is actually pretty normal behavior. It just isn't common knowledge.

Well documented, not well known. There's a couple black walnut trees and a number of paw-paw on our property with clear evidence of "something" removing limbs. Too high for the deer; not too high for a black bear rearing up on hind legs only.

They are desperate for any kind of nutrition. When I see a doe eating grasshoppers I know she won’t survive the winter.
Question: What kind of deer would mistakenly eat a red bird instead of a juicy red apple?Answer: no ideer.
