We're a week before what normally would be "sweat-n-overheat" season.  Normally, we've run AC for a couple weeks by now, but this year has been pleasantly cool.  I've been comfy in sleeveless T shirts and pants during the day, and the never-ending breeze combined with cooler-than-average temperatures has been quite pleasant.

We floated the river today and it was quite pleasant; high 60s/low 70s and invigorating water (mid 60s?)

Partly cloudy with lots of big fat rain clouds.  Temps in the mid seventies and humid.  It will get up to the high eighties today with kamikaze thunder showers.  I enjoyed the morning cool on my deck until the sun got up and the yellow flies arrived for breakfast.

We are surrounded by cow pastures. Today I noticed the deer/cow flies. First of the season. Big enough to saddle and ride. Ya don't one of them bad boys to bite you.

Major thunderstorm is blowing through. There was an alert issued. Worst is over now but the rain is lingering. Some limbs came down but nothing concerning. Just will require some clean up.
Could be this way all week.

Just before June and here I am in some jeans, boots, and a long sleeve henley.  No thought of AC right now- mid 50s in central VA.  I'd be surprised if we hit 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

I walked up to the garage with a hoodie and a crow was hopping along parallel while pacing me as a misty rain fell.  I recognize this crow; it is part of a pack of 6 that took up residence amongst our fields.  I've seen them grab mice a few times.  They also make a ruckus when they see a copperhead, eastern hognose, or black racer.  Needless to say, they get a free pass.




Thinking back, I don't recall many (if any!) times in decades past where it was this cool this late into May.
