I kept the weather feed up on the ranger station computer all day and I had another screen open on the Blitzortung app.  I tracked thunderstorms all day and advised visitors about the rain and lightning.  We had to shut the beach twice because of electrical storms and they canceled two boat tours because of electricity.  For once the weather was cooperating and we had a slow day.

Today we are supposed to start a 6 day cooling trend. So, we have a forecast high of 93°F and 16% humidity with late afternoon winds of up to 13mph.

Dense fog. Wifey and I went for a walk in the fog. There’s nothing like a walk in the fog to clear my head. . . Wait; my mind is still foggy.

I loved the fog in NW WA. It made everything quieter, hushed, and I enjoyed learning the foghorn pitches of some regular boats passing by. On a thickly socked-in winter day, the symphony of different foghorns resounded almost constantly. It made me think about the real dangers of approching too closely among the boats.

We drove very few miles there, so that particular hazard of dense fog wasn't bothersome.
