We hear the folks that live on the next property over are celebrating with fireworks. They usually go til sometime after midnight.
Kinda sad because it brings back memories of Rambo hiding from the sounds.

Kinda sad because it brings back memories of Rambo hiding from the sounds.

I brought the local cat inside yesterday because kids were popping fireworks all day and she was scared. When it was time for me to leave I put her outside then she ran back inside. The 2nd time I made sure stayed out. She's fine this morning so all is well.

At the very least, the new year begins with a decent night of sleep.

The trip to Lowes this morning was great. I may have seen a dozen cars tops on the 44 mile round trip into Troy and back and I shared the whole store with with one or two other patrons. The employees were gathered at the ends of the isles and asked what I was looking for. The one guy walked with me the whole time and took me right to the items I was looking for. There were 3 checkouts open and nobody was in line at any of them. I still went to self checkout.

 Our new neighbors moved in about 2 years ago from the city.
 So, July 4th and New Years they are blasting major fireworks.

Must be yet another pair of idiots who moved to the country to do things they couldn't do in suburbs or in town. Some of which are just plain rude and dangerous in the country, too.

I'm allowed to shoot PB on my property. Still doesn't make doing that late at night (other than in defense) or across the road etc civilized behavior.

Some folks move to the country for the peace and quiet. Others move there so they can do what they want when they want to. I moved far enough out for both worlds.
I am surrounded by a private airport, the county school bus garage, several hundred acres of cattle farm and a couple distant neighbors that enjoy life the same way we do. None of which will be making any changes any time soon. And if it does I will grab my hat, call my dogs and look for a spot deeper into the woods.
