Conversion??

The wife  has a Beeman  R 10 in 5mm. It's  about  35 years  old the question  I  have  is can this  gun be converted  to a PCP gun or bad idea? Should  we  just  sell it and  buy her a new  gun?

It's a springer right? No, I don't believe it can. You can convert a CO2 gun to a PCP but not a springer.

It has been done, but probably to costly to convert from scratch. BSA built a couple.

A springer and a PCP have very different internal and external parts. IMO destroying/chopping-up an R10 to make a Frankenstein's monster PCP makes me very SAD for the R10 and your WALLET.

A BIG Holiday BONUS for the machine shop you have perform the work. The conversion should only be 2x-3x the cost of a whole new purpose built PCP rifle.

I'd refurb the R10 (new seals, new spring, fresh lube, IF NEEDED) to bring it back to factory spec and simply enjoy shooting it.
OR maybe sell it to help pay for the new PCP and support equipment?
For general shooting enjoyment I'd pick 177 or 22 cal over the 20 cal as pellet selection, availability, and cost are all better.
