Sheridan Model A on Ebay

Normally I wouldn't post something here about a current ebay listing because I wouldn't want someone to do that about an item I was hoping to buy - you know, alert a bunch more people about it.

But this Model A has been sitting there for quite awhile and with a buy it now price of $2,500.  It looks pretty darn nice, too.  Sure, it says it needs to be resealed and not just anyone can do that job, but some of these things have gone for $5,000 or so, so I'm just curious why this one just sits there so long.

Any ideas?

You don’t sell a $2500 rifle easily with 6 pictures? You need to get close-ups of all the parts.  Yes, reseal can be a bit daunting.  I think $2500 is about top dollar, $5000 got to be a bit crazy?

Poor mans supergrade is the Crosman 108, and you reseal with a few O rings.

From the pics the gun looks to be in poor condition overall, and the finish on the stock doesn't look original. Ebay prices are what they are but that doesn't mean they are realistic.

You draw the line at only $100 ?

With few exceptions $100 takes most good vintage airguns off the table these days, 5 years ago it was not hard to find good stuff for under, $150 on Ebay but those days are gone.
Now unless it's completely hosed, the only vintage air rifles you'll find under $100 that aren't completely hosed are plastic trigger Daisy's and various plastic fantastic Crosmans.

Yeah... prices have gone crazy!
 ~4-5 years ago I got my pristine Sheridan Model F for about $200 shipped.
Now they are fetching twice that or more for lesser quality examples.

I'll probably hang on to them for the time being.. Betty Lou can decide what to do with them when I'm gone. I've already given her suggestions if she chooses to go that route.

I reckon, but I also probably said that wrong ... and its been more like $150 lately, then more after they tack on shipping, tax, and sometimes fee. I just bought a Crosman 140 that looked to be in very good condition for $100, but after all said and done it's almost $150. It looks complete but seller said it doesn't hold air. Ordered seals so there's that too.

Second one nobody bid and I worked out a deal after (pawn shop). New 1377 shipped, no tax, $65. It's the bolt and plastic breech ones with the support strip of plastic, I'm thinking it's a fair price?
