Williams aperture size

I recently put a Williams Twilight aperture on my 100th anniversary Crosman 362. I put the .093 on there cause the .050 was just too small and the cobweb illusion was annoying. I can now see the target better in the shade and the cobwebs are gone. I shoot better with the .093 as I can more easily center the front bead without thinking about it which is the whole purpose of the peep sight. I was wondering if anyone has used the .125 aperture? What circumstances would dictate use of that aperture size?  ***** I just realized I should have put this in optics Duh!!!

First..You should be looking at an any portion of the rear sight, no matter how large or small it may be.
Second..Focus only on the front sight and only the front sight you will be fine.

That's kinda what I was saying. Focus on the front sight, ignore the peep hole. I get it. My target area is in the shade. The .050 target aperture is  too small and too dark for me to see the front sight well enough for me to concentrate on it. The .093 aperture solved that problem. Just wondering if the .125 aperture would be even better and if anyone uses that large of an aperture and if so, why?

I like larger aperature peeps in low light, large enough to see the front sight.

I would suggest that you get your eyes checked!  You may have cataracts.....

Have you tried the standard 0.93" insert that does not have the Twilight's golden ring?

When I got my Blue Streak, it had no insert with it. I ordered the 0.93" Twilight because the vendor did not stock the non-Twilight version.

I found that in some light conditions, the golden ring was a distraction. So I ordered the standard one and a 0.05" target insert also. I can still see through the smaller hole but I prefer the 0.093"--without the Twilight treatment.

BTW, I shot the gun first with no insert in the rear peep. Have you tried that?

Is that called a ghost ring?

If you mean shooting through a peep without any insert, I don't think so. I got the impression that ghost ring refers to an insert with a large hole, intended for big game hunting. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will confirm or refute that.

...OK, I just searched on "ghost ring." Williams makes a rear sight they call a ghost ring; it IS the rear sight, not an insert. But this might be another of those terms without a standard definition.

Or just get an empty toilet paper roll and rubber band it to you receiver.  You could also use it for elevation adjustments by marking the inside of the tube.
