A couple years with my Diana 34 LOA

I have had my Diana 34 LOA for a couple years now, and although I don't feel qualified to do a full review, what I can tell you is that this little springer is my favorite to shoot. Very quick and smooth shot cycle with very little buzz out of the box. Trigger is great, though I haven't been able to adjust it to match my HW95 out of the box. I haven't done anything more to it than mount an optic, and I'm not likely to until it needs a new seal.

This morning, as I do about once a week, I sat on the back patio with my wife, fired up a pipe, and shot this 5 shot group at 38 yards with the rifle resting on a Milwaukee pack out tool box with an old pair of jeans draped over it. I assure you, this is not a fluke our outlier grouping with this rifle. It will regularly print groups like this at this distance with H&N 8.64 FTTs. And I'm NOT that great of a shooter.

I know a lot of shooters are iffy at best about the EMS system and these "new" Dianas in general, but if mine is a reflection of their quality, then rest assured they are incredible.

Good looking. Mine is shooting well too but I only shoot at 15  yards.

I also have Beeman Kodiak x2 which shoots well too. It is lighter but trigger not as light as Diana 34

I had a Grizzly X2 years ago. It was my first "real" pellet rifle. It was surprisingly accurate and a blast shoot. I have owned and sold several airgun, but that is the one I regret selling the most. Thanks for the reply!

They definitely were! That's when I got mine. I think it was less than $200 shipped, but i can't remember. Not likely to find a deal like that again for a long time.

If memory serves it was $164 for the gun plus a custom tin of pellets and a nice case. Amazing.

Mine is shooting a little low fpe.  Think I need a seal change. I noticed a burr I never filed down.  Has a bit of twand to but has always been accurate and great to handle.  I put a cocking assist/airstripper from a hatsan supercharger pistol on mine which has been great for my extra long left arm.  I tried a moderator or two,  ut most of the noise on mine is mechanical.  This thread has me thinking of changing that seal and seeing if I can get it up from 9fpe to closer to 14.  The design is so different internally.  There's no piston stem!  Instead there is a top hat with a long stem!  In fact, if that is loose fitting it might explain the buzz in part. Yeah, definitely thinking of taking that one apart and tinkering a bit.

[chuckling] what I know I learned slowly from all the experienced folks here, who know a lot more than me.  Not a lot of folks tinkering with the ems's though. I'll post about the process here as I go through it so you can see what's inside.  I'm happy to help you out, but your gun is shooting well and your description is of a well functioning, untwangy shooter! I wouldn't touch it! Leave well enough alone is my thought.

Good Ole Carter Hall. Nothing but the finest (cheapest)! Really, though... it's a bad habit that I do not recommend anyone start. But if it's too late for that, Carter Hall is great stuff. Probably doesn't help with shooting small groups, though.

This particular air stripper is made by Hatsan, and it is inexpensive.
Furthermore, it is ADJUSTABLE.

Which means that you can adjust the "jump" or "gap" that you allow the hot and high pressure gases to escape.

Depending on the length of the pellet, this space needs to be carefully set by trial/ordeal to what makes the barrel shoot most precisely and accurately.

The "Shoulder" you refer to is simply the point where the cone needs to convert into a cylinder so that it runs smoothly inside the housing (the black part).

It comes in a ½"-20 UNF thread and so it is compatible with a number of brands and models and it is NOT a moderator, so it is legal in most countries.

If you consider the "soup" through which the pellets fly at the moment of exiting the muzzle, you realize how important is the crown, and when the crown cannot be made better, an airstripper can be a good idea.

Problem with air strippers like this is that they need to be adjusted in VERY FINE increments, like 0.5 mm's increments to really show their potential.

BUT, the point in the picture was not the air stripper, it was how to put some decent iron sights into a a gun that has a threaded barrel.
