Good to hear that. I ordered some with the 1331. And a tin of JSB 26.54 gr Hollowpoint. The order has not shipped yet but should soon.

Small game season opens November 9 here.  I’m confident enough with the Raider now to consider it hunting ready.  I’m determined to study the BStaley mod more and figure out how it would be applied to the Raider.  I ain’t ready to start poking around in the guts of this thing yet.  I’m gonna take it out in the field and give it a thorough shake down first.

I found the hammer adjuster screw on my gun to be surprisingly easy to turn.  Easy enough that it concerned me.  It feels like it might be loose enough to turn due to vibration either from repeated shots or from transportation.  Something to be aware of.

That's a good idea.  Once I get the gun dialed in I'll do that.

QUALITY CONTROL WARNING  Repel 40% DEET insect repellent will soften and possibly strip the finish from the wood stock on the Beeman Raider!  I gooped up this a.m. in preparation for a walk through my permission.    When I touched the stock it immediately felt tacky.  Anywhere my treated skin touched the wood it stuck.  Fortunately I had not applied much but I had to wash my hands before I could handle the gun comfortably.  Other owners might keep this in mind if you live where insect repellent is necessary.

 I need to refill the Raider and try back out the screw another full turn. I'm sure that's add another 3-5 shots to stay within 30 FPS. I'm thinking of using Heavier pellets, heavier pellets should also bring down the FPS spread.

Judging by your numbers it looks like you are refining the tune at this point.  I don’t think my .25 can be as efficient as your .22 unless I settle for a much lower muzzle energy.  I’d like to get a nice long flat curve with a mean of  around 24 FPE.  Bench rest accuracy of the gun has been fine but it’s been disappointing in the field where I’m struggling with a wandering zero on my scope.  I don’t know if it’s the scope, the rings, or the synthetic receiver.

On AGN members were discussing the hammer.  Some fellows think it’s too heavy and needs to be lightened for best efficiency.  I’m trying to puzzle out how that would work.

I believe that someone posted about doing that mod or maybe it was on a Beeman Commander.  I'm leaning toward that modification.  If I can figure out how to do it to this gun.  I was kinda hoping somebody else would do it first.

I did the BStaley mod on a .177 Beeman Raider.

You need to get the hammer out of the receiver first.
It took me a while the first time.

From what I remember to get the hammer out:
-remove the endcap holding the hamer spring and the hammer spring
Some screws need to be taken out.
-loosen the trigger assembly, slightly away from the air tube
-the hammer will come out now

I used 2 o'rings, OD: 22mm, CS: 2mm
The o'rings need to be well greased with silicone grease and placed touching the valve face.

Then the hammer is placed back in as usual.
Attach the trigger assembly to the air tube, since it was just a littlle loose you need to tighten the front screw.
Make sure that the trigger still works.
Add back the hammer spring, endcap and the screws.

Yes it was naptemp that first mentioned the BStaley mod. I have a set of O-rings on the way to get the Mod done. I'm sure I can Mod a couple others like the Marshall and the Iconix.
 Some time ago I had read a pic story on how to get the Mod done.  Today if it is not bad out I'll get another shot string through the Chrono.

I got out some graph paper and shot a graph of the POI at twenty yards.  Three sheets of graph paper made 33 data points.  Starting from a 2700 PSI fill I shot 33 25.39gr JSB Kings, one at each point in turn. POA was six o’clock on each black square.  The gun was zeroed for 35 yards.  I was only shooting from a bucket and sticks so I figure a margin of error of +or- 5%.  Figure the vertical error is about equal to the horizontal error and it is pretty evident.  Ending pressure was approximately 1300 PSI.  The results were surprising and actually kind of encouraging.  See below.

Last 48 shots (4 mags) shot string (2 days ago) with Norma domed 9.1 grains:
-start at 3500 PSI and 850 FPS
-peak around 885 FPS
-end around 2300 PSI and 850 FPS

I could also get 72 shots (6 magazines) at lower 800s FPS with a 40-45 FPS spread.

Once you install the o'ring buffer (BStaley mod) it's much easier to get efficient tunes.

The airgun also becomes much more QUIET.
