Has anybody performed the popular trigger mods to their daisy 499 ?

Today I attempted to perform the popular trigger mod for the 499 that is published online.
I messed up and had to order another trigger group from Cobalt on EBAY,  but that's not really what this is about.

What I want to know is just exactly what you get out of doing these mods, I know the pull will be crisper but that's not what I notice most about it.
The trigger group is still going to be loose fitting in the gun which contributes to the feel, and there a long springy take-up
Really for me those are the only 2 things that bother me enough to want to resolve.

For the new trigger group I think I will just add a couple of spacers so it doesn't move around so much, and maybe grease the parts with super lube.
I shoot fine with this trigger, and am not going to risk another if I'm still stuck with that long springy take-up.


Do any of you have experience with this modification that you can share ?

I had a 99 champion and the trigger was much better in my opinion.  Rest of the gun was kinda worn out so I gave it away,  I liked that the 99 had a shot tube that held lots of bb’s.

I plan to do a trigger job on my 499 soon.  Just been too busy.  I plan to buy a new trigger group for $13 and work on it.  Hopefully I won’t screw it up and can just swap it out.  I wish someone who has perfected it would just sell a modified trigger group.  Something with better parts, metal trigger blade, etc.  I think something that holds the 499 back is they are used for the bb rifle matches and the rules say you can’t swap out parts for aftermarket stuff.  It would be nice to see some improved aftermarket parts for this rifle.

I would absolutely love an improved trigger group.

I would like to make this trigger better, but not if the long springy take-up can't be eliminated.
If I can't get rid of that then there's no point.
