Single Stroke Pistol

Does anyone know of a single stroke pistol with either an extended or replaceable barrel?  I want to practice in the basement without disturbing the family so I need one I can add a silencer to.  I saw a post about a pistol sold by
Flying Dragons but the post was about 4 years old and an email to Flying Dragons has gone unanswered.  That pistol was the XS-120D and I can't find any information about it's availability for sale so I'm thinking it's not made anymore.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.   Dave

Beeman P17.
I swapped the barrel in my P17 for a Crosman 22 barrel, and made my son's a switch barrel gun with 177, 22, and 25 cal barrels. Any chance that would work for you? P17s are pretty quiet to begin with,  your backstop will have more potential for noise.  A cardboard box stuffed with rags is noiseless.
That combo should get you started.

When you get your P17, email Mike M. @ Flying Dragons & buy a xs120D parts gun from him with the .177 & .22 barrels. I did exactly that & now have a .22 P17, w/all the spare parts for the future. Not enough barrel length for a silencer though.

 P17 One off custom, I added a Daisy 880 barrel cut to 11 inches, then the Daisy shroud. I later added a Buck Rail suppressor to give total silence.

 2240 with a TKO seems a better choice….but hey…I find the P-17 loud but I dont have to worry about noise….good luck

I like MZQ284's idea.  I didn't know the barrel diameter of any of these guns, P3, P17 or the XS-120 so the idea of changing the barrel to a Crosman didn't occur to me.  Anyone know what the insides of these guns look like, I mean is the barrel mounted in plastic or metal?

The diameter of Crosman barrels is 7/16" or .4375"
The diameter of the P17 and others is .395"

To make a Crosman barrel fit into the P17 frame you will need to use a lathe and turn the barrel down.

( I actually used a drill press and spun the barrel and use files - long job - I would not recommend )

With the 10.5" barrel you can slip a moderator on ( cocking may not be possible with moderator on while cocking )

I set the "slide" up in the drill press and drilled it out to 7/16. I would have to look at my son's gun and see how I mounted the clamp at the back. For less intensive work, Franks idea is the way to go. If I had known that when I did the work on our guns I would have bought a parts gun.
If staying with 177 caliber James idea of an 880 barrel and shroud is very cool!

I purchased a P17 today and of course opened it up.  I ordered two 10" barrels from Crosman and will turn one down to fit.  This pistol is a real bear to pump!  I may like the 1377 I have on order better when I get a chance to try it.  now the wait for UPS.

When I got home from work I got out our P17s. My son's is on the left. The way I did his was to drill out the slide and open up the saddle in the back where the clamp is and machining a flat on the barrel for the clamp. This is the better way to do it, if you can't turn the barrel.

Please don't take this the wrong way but if you think the P17 is a bear to pump, you might want to look into CO2 "toys" . The P17 is a single stroke so it is normal to have some resistance. The 1377 is a multi-stroke so the first few "pumps" should be fairly easy.  Thre are a few other single stroke pistols out there but the P17 is the more accurate one of the "affordable priced" bunch.

Fair enough, you got CO2 pistols covered. The XS sold by Flying Dragon was/is a copy/clone of the P17 so it is about as hard to pump as the P17. What set it apart was the fact that it came with a .177 and a .22 barrel. I have both and there is hardly any difference between the two, maybe the P17 is put together a bit better. Give Mike (?) at Flying Dragon a chance. It is a one man operation and he can be busy. He is a member on GTA, you might want to try messaging him from here.

When you get the 1377, it is easy to add a moderator - Buck-Rail has a very good setup and it is quiet.
