Riflescope for HW50S

Hi, will a medium mount for the 4-16X44 scope be suitable for the HW50S rifle ? I am not sure if I ordered the mount correctly. The outer size of the objective tube on this scope is 50mm

Medium scope mount should be fine with that scope.

FWIW, I tried a 3x12x32 bug buster scope and simply tossed it into the trash.  By a wide margin, it was the worst scope I have ever used.

Sadly with scope mounts everybody's MEDIUM is a different hight.  Like I said SportMartch makes great stuff.  Hawke's website shows the dimension for their scope mounts.  Others may as well.  If you want to get anal, figure out your cheek weld and where your eye lines up.  I suggest putting a piece of tape on your cheek where it touches the top of the stock.  Then measure that distance to the center of your eye ball.  A mirror helps.  Then look up the dimensions of whatever scope mount you fancy and see if the bottom of the rear most ring+ 1/2" equals this distance.

Rob, sorry to hear about your experience with the 3x12 Bug Buster, I purchased 2 of them over the summer and they seem to work well for me, I mounted them on 2 new COMETA rifles, I was looking for a small compact scope for these rifles to keep the weight down, IMO they work!

Mark, it could certainly have been the case that I just got a dud.  I liked the idea of a compact 3-12x scope and the price is resonable, but mine would not hold focus or zero 🤷‍♂️.

Mark, it could certainly have been the case that I just got a dud.  I liked the idea of a compact 3-12x scope and the price is resonable, but mine would not hold focus or zero 🤷‍♂️.

I put a UTG 3-12 compact on my HW50 and it seemed to be a perfect fit and balance well with the rifle.

It seems medium is more than adequate on most occasions.

Surprisingly, I have a 30mm 6-24x50 scope attached to my AA S500 that is clamped by low BKL 30mm rings.

Most guns have step-downs though, i.e., breech taller than barrel, so….

Still has a lot of space actually 👍
