The uBICuitous BIC Lighters.... Plastic cigarette lighters, and/or, other lighters; they all have springs.
Yep, they are everywhere, and cheap. If you are a smoker, or, know one, grab their old dead lighters and tear them down. I keep a bunch of them in an old empty pellet tin. You just never know when you'll need something like them.
Example, and why I posted,.... I just used one as a replacement spring for a lost stock locking button on my Crosman 2289/13xx

Good suggestion. I'm an ex-smoker, and I've kept so much of both springs inside these lighters, I must have a lifetime supply lol! The smaller one (for the flint) makes an excellent replacement for a lost safety spring in the 13xx/22xx pistols. Other cheap tranparent lighters have different size small springs, and small Orings too. And don't forget to check into your old pens too!

Lighters and BIC ball point pens. And an other junk you are about to dump .
I have a drawer full of springs and none of them fit the job I want them to do.

There was a particular brand of cheapo disposable lighter in the Philippines that had thin O-rings, perfect for the Crosman transfer port; you put it on top of the TP to create a much better seal, especially if you have a steel breech.
It also had a very thin, threadlike, one and extremely small that was perfect for bolt probes; that one you put behind your existing probe O-ring, thereby creating a much better seal and lock-up.
It was perfect for the .177 caliber, although I really never had a .22 13xx/22xx…
