  Ok why aren't there any .22 BBguns - Smoothbore Multipump Airguns that shoot 5.5mm Copper and Zinc coated BBs in 11-14gr+. Is it too much to launch large BBS? Would the ricochet factor be too much? I don't think so.
A .22 Smoothbore in the form of a DP880 or Win 1977 and even a DP35 .22 would be Very Fun. Can we get something like that going somewhere in DaisyCrosmanGamoBSA+. Also can we replace the plastic receivers in every model, everywhere even if it's potmetal and start using Picatinny Bases in place of Dovetail rails. Is it too much to ask?
  I'm abit bored as it is heckling windy and rainy and I want to be shooting. So I took out my DP880SB < DPM35 barrel receiver trigger in 880 parts for a Smoothbore DP880. Limiter Slot on piston filled with JBWeld and shimmed Piston O-ring, Shimmed Airtube O-ring. Does good within 15 yards best at 11yards on in. Shooting cans at 11 yards all 3 BBS stay on can, doesn't take long to fill a can with holes. I have tried shots with 3, 4 and 5 bbs seems that 3 does the best, for me.

 I used to load 3 bbs in my C760 as the magnent will hold that many in the chamber, was ok for barn mice and hosp. might have to investigate .22 roundball options and or ball bearings and tubes that would be compatible

 Back_Roads,
 Looking online I found 5.5mm bearings @ 200pc for $8 and having calculated the weight for the bearings they weigh around 11.94gr.

 I also have a 760 that I will be changing the pump piston to a newer used shimmed Piston.

For comparison - also CPirhana 10.5 do very good in smoothbores, stays on can at 20yards. Also DP880SB does very good with these heavy wide head pellets.

 I'll see what velocity gain after the piston is changed on the C760B, loud handling when filled with BBS.

If you swap a .22 barrel into an 880 I can male you a .22 bolt w/magnet and O-ring...
You would need a china 880 as the loading port is already .22 and drill the leade out.......
Or, an older 822 valve body..
I can likewise do a bolt w/magnet for Crosman 2200......

 The problem for me though is finding a .22 barrel in any of the non current production offerings. I would like .22 in all the .177 Pumpers ik heb, a 882 and a 2200 sound very fun ... There is a but.. that being they are no longer produced.
 We need all the rifled .22 pumpers to come back, I know this is the BB gate but still we need .22 in every pump model..

Crosman sells the barrel for the 362 quire reasonably.
But, machining is required ti fit into any pumper platform.
And, of course, they are rifled..

Brownells sells .22 barrel liners that will fit, but they are firearm caliber, the bore is slightly larger than .22 airgun bore.....
And, they are not exactly cheap..

Gamo makes a .22 round ball lead projectile that works well in lots of other .22 rifled and smooth bore barrels. As far as i know, Gamo also still makes the smoth bore .22 from the Viper express... its a liner but maybe we can buy it separately???
My other idea was to get readily available Airsoft barrels (6mm, or .23 cal). after adapting those just order airsoft metal ammo (.30g, or 4.6 gr) and use that. You wont need much pumping to propel that at a very doable 500 fps, which will allow for some serious distance.

  I forgot all about the Gamo Viper Express. 22, not sure if I would get one,, sounds fun especially using pellets within 15yards.. maybe be good to use up pellets that your other barrels don't like..
  Well somettime I might add a DP880 or a L1000KT for using BBS only.. in not sure how well BBS will shoot through a rifled barrel, but I can find out later, I'd rather not test BBs in Any of my pellet guns.
