Is this just my memory, or are there less pellet choices now?

Was just browsing on Pyramid air at ammo, and mind you for the first time in about 4 years. I first got into airgunning during the pandemic. Anyway, I'd heard that the 362 shot heavy pellets well, or at least that many owners have said so, even that many shoot heavier pellets better than light ones...

Anyway, what I noticed, and it could be bad memory or my imagination, but it seems to me there are FAR LESS choices than there used to be in pellets?  I saw a TON of slugs, but for heavy pellets, at least in .22, very few in diabolo style.  Back a few years ago, I seem to recall a VAST array of different pellets you could get, and H&N made a few cheap slugs, and FX made the spendy ones.

I just recall a lot less slugs and a lot more variety of both brands and types of pellets. Is it just me, or is that how it is now?

One newer brand with very good pellets is JTS

Many .22 weights.

While H&N has dropped quite a few offerings in the last 20 years or so, Crosman too.  Most of the Old Beeman was H&N anyways.
Other manufacturers have come out with pellet offerings that kinda more than fill what we're lost IMO.

We have stopped producing some pellets (or caliber variants of some pellets), but have also launched new ones. Actually, the number of pellets (pellet type x caliber variants) has increased from 52 in 2011 to 61 in 2024 (slugs excluded).

I bet if the SNIPER line had been more profitable it would still be made.  I myself liked the line and still have a few on hand.

We discontinued the Sniper product line because production on the special machines we bought used from a small manufacturer was a nightmare. We produced too many batches that had to be rejected and so we had to stopp production for economic reasons.
We have since scrapped the machines.
