The big thing that’s a mystery to me is it has the number 2 stamped on the barrel band. My understanding is that pre July 1975, a three digit month and year was stamped on the end of the barrel band. I know Crosman used different parts from different years sometimes to go through all their parts. Maybe the ‘2’ means 72?

Looks like a second variant to me.Most probably. Bear in mind that these are self-cockers, so they don't use the same seal kit as a more modern, cartridge-type valve.
