Congratulations! I think it’d be hard to wait to fix a gun before shooting it. Then again, lots of people do exactly that. You have resources right here on GTA, too.I love mine!
Nice one ! You could try oiling it. . . put several drops at the pump cup at the very bottom of the long, thin slot.

Sheridan Owners Group (yeah, I just made that up)If you are going to reseal it pay particular attention to the lead seal in the valve and the threads in the valve which are brass and easy to cross thread. Not a good thing if you have a soldered in valve.As for the lead seal... they can be reused if they are in good shape. I've seen novice "fixers" not even realize they are there because often times they need to be "picked" out and they just add the plastic seal that comes with many kits on top of the lead... this ain't gonna work.You will also need to borrow, make or buy the tool that's needed to do the job. I would also recommend trying to revive the gun with oil as mentioned or even do a search on the "alcohol flush".Good luck.

It is out of position because I can see the two dimples about two inches behind the rear sight as it sits. It is missing the elevation screw. 4-40?Can I just order a seal kit from Baker or Mac1?Hunter
