I just purchased one of these scopes to use for ratting in my suburban backyard.  I currently use a hyscore model 808 that I got from my grandfather along with a nitecore torch on low power. It works fine but the torch scares all the rats away.

Now, obviously the scope won't fit on the 60+yr old pellet gun. I have a RWS 94 in .177 that I was thinking of putting it on but it's a springer and I am wary. I called ATN and the customer service representative said it will not void the warranty, but he has never heard of anyone using it on an airgun.

Thoughts? I don't want to destroy the scope!

Well, if the rep has never heard of anyone using it on an airgun then it must be ok to handle the recoil of a PB. But yeah, I get it, I'd be wary as well. If you plan on trying it, I would do it while it's under warranty.

He told me to look at their recoil chart and compare what I thought the pellet gun's recoil was to the firearms listed.... not too happy about that response.

The initial recoil of your airgun is unlikely to damage the scope - that's the one you feel.  Many scopes are not protected against the second recoil - the one you don't feel.  The first recoil pushes against your shoulder like a firearm.  The second recoil happens when the piston strikes the end of the compression tube.  That one pushes away from your shoulder and is the usual scope killer.  You don't feel it but the scope does.
