Beginner rifle for high school team practice

Hi everyone,

My apologies for the long pause. I”ve been doing a lot of research and window shopping. I was all set to pick up the 853CMP and then do the 5996 sights upgrade. But I was just told by Daisy that the rear sight costs $76. I had been mistakenly told it was $20 last week. I think it was a misunderstanding.

Does anyone know of a lower price?  Or if anyone has a rear and front set to sell?

A quick google and I see two "match rear sight" options -- $20 for a model 5899 or the $77 one.   Someone must have confused the two.

Maybe someone here can explain why one is $57 better than the other  --  they look fundamentally the same to me.

Thanks to everyone for their words of advice!  It all helped make the decision, which turned out to be picking up the Daisy 853CMP.  I also got a great deal on a used set of 753 sights so we are all set.  The rifle is a beauty and is all that was described by the many posts I saw.  My daughter tried it out today and I'll post the inaugural target pic later. 

The sad (or maybe good thing) is that my eyesight won't let me use those sights so I'll have to look around for another shooter that I can use a scope on. I kick myself for not ordering a second 853 at the same time so I would've saved shipping costs!
