Cleaning New Maurauder

Just got my first PCP: a Maurauder .22. Before I start shooting it, I'd like to clean the barrel. I tried using weedeater cord through both the muzzle and chamber. It gets caught in the baffle at the end of the barrel. Is there an easy way to remove the bolt? I'd like to use a .17 cal coated ramrod with a jag. My concern is that if I start probing around with weedwacker cord I'll screw up the baffle. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I use weed eater line, but I remove the endcap and the baffles. (easy)
They act like dust collectors, and should be cleaned once in a while.
Patches may get lost in the baffles if you don't.

I don't remove the bolt, but i feed the line in from the breech, and pull it out the muzzle.
Heat the line with a lighter and try to take the curl out of the first six inches.
This will help get the line past the "Spacer, Barrel Shroud" that is on the end of the barrel inside the shroud.

You can remove the bolt, and use a straight rod, by removing the the bolt screw on the left hand side of the receiver. If I didn't have a coated Dewey rod to use, I would stick with the nylon line.
Another thing you have to deal with if you take the bolt out, is the "plunger assy"
This is the ball and spring that hold the bolt in the firing position.
The screw is on the top of the bolt end of the receiver.
You will have to take your scope off, to get the plunger screw out, to remove and replace the bolt.

I keep my bolt lubed with Honda Moly 60.

Thanks, Rickster!!  Now I know why the shroud at the muzzle is knurled.      Very obvious when pointed out. Anything subtle that I should look for when I remove the baffles, etc, (other than replacing  everything in reverse order when reassembling)?

Removing the bolt each time I clean the bore can prove to be a hassle. From what I see so far, its a lot easier to just remove the baffle. And, yes, I do have a .17 cal Dewey coated rod, and adapter, that I'll be using with a .22 cal jag. I'll just cock the bolt, leave it open and let the dirty patches fall out of the breech.

Nothing special, just make sure you put the end cap on fairly tight.
And don't loose the o-ring that goes between the last baffle and the endcap.
There are 4 baffles in there.

One other thing, you will be pushing patches over the breach o-ring so.
Put a drop of Silicone oil or chamber oil on the breach o-ring when you are finished. and after every 500 rounds.
