I recently started chronographing my air rifles since my buddy dropped his chrono off for me to use and I fired a few different pellets through my R9 and thought they were running a little slow, Crosman 14.3 gr HP's are running between 655 and 667 fps so I called Air Venturi and talked with Ted and gave him the numbers I posted here and he said " Let me send you a tin of RWS Hobby pellets to see what you get with them." Apparently the Hobby pellets are what the factory uses to get their advertised velocity for the R9
The Hobby pellets arrived this morning only two days after I talked with Ted. I can't say enough good things about the customer service I received from Ted, we talked for quite some time about various things such as fishing and ballistics and small game hunting, he was very helpful and understanding about my concerns. I chronographed the Hobby pellets a little while ago and they were averaging 725 fps which is right where they should be. 5 STARS to Ted and Air Venturi for their excellent customer service, the R9 is my favorite air rifle and it's nice to know that there is a solid company to back you up if you run into trouble👍

I just wanted to get the numbers so I didn't actually put them on paper, but I can hit the small circle on a Crosman squirrel reset target off hand every time with them and the Birchood Casey small lolly pop spinner both at 30 yards, the small reset on the squirrel target is roughly 1 1/2 inches and the lolly pop is about 1 3/4" I'll do some paper testing later, but they appear like they're going to shoot well👍

You had a better experience than I with Air Venturi's customer service. I called them twice, left a voicemail, and emailed them. Never received a response to any of it.

Your rifle is a little faster than mine, but I'm not sending it back for 20 fps.

This is 5 shots at 10 meters, not my best grouping pellet, but you can't beat the price and they do ok👍

Thanks Steve, I would never have bought these pellets personally simply because they didn't fit what I use the rifle for, but after shooting a few of them I think they might work as a good short range pesting pellet.
