Hey all,
Recently took delivery of a Uragan2 in 30 cal.
Fantastic shooter I've only had it out once sighted in at 50 and 100yards with a ok scope. Waiting for new Discovery ffp. I'll post results later.
My question is I'm toying with the idea of adding a STO or Behemoth by Edgun moderator.
From various reviews here and airgun nation the STO gets high marks and gets more comments while the Behemoth has less comments and reviews.
Some comments have indicated a potential issue with the STO getting fouled with lead dust. On the other hand the Behemoth has a repair kit that address the issue.
So, what to do?
Comments appreciated.

Hey Gary -
I have an Edgun Behemoth. I bought it out of curiosity, as I do many things.
I also have "one of" STO's suppressors, also bought out of curiosity. I like the size and look in general.
The
Behemoth
..."OK".
As a muffler / silencer / suppressor, etc, it works...OK. I tried it on both a couple of rifles and even two pistols. For its size and method of sound suppression, I don't understand why it doesn't work better than it does. Most of my guns have the older Huma mufflers with the Kevlar wrap inside, they work fairly well. This is of similar construction, but doesn't seem to be quite as effective, especially for its size.
The
Behemoth
...not so..."OK" .
The three lobe connector/adapter, is, well, not so good. I think the idea might be a reasonable one to some. Like those with shorter gun cases, that need to remove their suppressors to be able to fit it into its case. Fine. But at least in my case, the fit if the male and female parts is way too loose. I can see, very easily where if you were walking with the muzzle pointing down, you may find yourself backtracking to...find the "can" after it fell off the adapter, many steps back somewhere !
A simple, spring-steel. o-ring would have added major friction to the system to hold the can in place, in a MUCH better fashion, without making the act of taking it apart, any more difficult.
The
STO
.
I have one of their
Pugio
suppressors. I bought it because it's short. Both on my rifles and somewhat obviously, short for pistols is a must. It works OK, on lower power guns like pistols, but not so well on even slightly higher power rifles. Most of my rifles are tuned to about 800/820 fps. The Pugio isn't so effective as a sound suppressor over about 600 fps.
Both the
STO, Pugio
and the
Behemoth
-
While they both are currently on guns right now, I don't plan on buying more of either.
Note -
While like I mentioned, I like the way that the Huma's work, that's the "original" design. The ones with the Kevlar wrap. Not much of a fan of the new "Avalanche" design. The apparent "sound" suppression is sort of...ok. But by the sound of the original, the new "Avalanche" baffles (plastic baffles) give the sound more of a "crack" or sharp sound, vs. the Kevlar wrap, has a lower pitch to the sound.
Hope that helps a little.
