Several years ago when I was in vintage/classic gathering mode I came upon a couple Made for Crosman by Mendoza RM377 rifles. One of them was in near perfect condition and the other need a bit of TLC on the wood finish. Almost a year ago Betty Lou decided to tackle the job. At first she was all gung ho and got it about 75% sanded. After that it just kind of laid on the table in the bar. When the bar was sold everything got packed up and move to the house. The gun laid in the screen room for several months after that. Whenever I mentioned it, she claimed that she wanted to finish it and she would get to it.
Finally today I just couldn't take it anymore... I took the gun to the front porch and finished sanding it. Then I applied 2 coats of golden honey stain on it and wiped it down. Next I applied 2 coats of Ballistol wiping it down between coats and let the gun soak it in.
While that was soaking in I cleaned up the metal and put Ballistol on that.
I took a soft rag and polished up the wood and put the gun back together. It does have a couple small blotches that I think are from some water or something having been on the gun over the coarse of it's life but, I really like how it turned out. It's a satin finish. I really do not like high gloss wood finishes.

Nice job, Bill. Does it have the double triggers or is that an optical illusion.

Nope, no double triggers on these. You might be looking at a long bolt I had in there to prop the gun up for pictures.
No wait... that's a shadow off the table. ( I had to look again)
