Hi all.
Thought I'd talk a bit about my Benjamin Titan NP .22 today. I'm an old guy. I bought it new about 10 years ago now. The last one they had. A lemon, lol.
I vaguely recall ordering new seals and super moly paste, deburring, installing brass washers, adding an rc bearing to the trigger...
How time flies.
Just the other day it honked for the first time. Hmm, I suppose it's time for me to tear into it again. Still have the plank clamp.
It has been a real pleasure over the years.
It has worn the same simple 4x Simmons 22 mag scope since new and I can still ping a 2x3" piece of steel at 50 yards offhand with it.
It has become a small corvid's bane.
I find the noise to power ratio is really good and it reaches out with enough power for my uses.
It has always locked up real tight.
Breaking the barrel has always been a workout though... not sure why that is.
I seem to remember just over 600fps with 14's in it, which seemed slow to me. Maybe my seal was too tight or something.
It's got a decent, weird little wood grain to the stock, which I thought was plain at first but now have come to like it. Seems like you can see deeply into the wood at certain angles.
I find it very solid feeling, with a bit of heft which seems to give me confidence bringing it to my shoulder. If I shake it, it will emit a rattle though. I'll look into that this time around.
I have long ago found the way it likes to be held and the types of pellets it likes. Unfortunately, most pellets fall somewhat loosely into the chamber. I've avoided online ordering as I could usually find the ones it liked but recent visits have not been successful. Oh well. I needed better options for thicker pellets anyway I suppose.
I actually started to try bumping up cheaper pellets. Surprisingly I was getting results haha. Haven't messed with it for a while now.though.

Read the old thread. That rifle did need some help but it looked like you did good work on it.
Those two notches in the seal lip look too clean to me. I've had a few superheated burn channels and they ""look" like flame burned channels. Those 2 "dents" almost look like the seal was molded that way intentionally. If you are in Canada could that rifle have been factory derated to 500fps for Canadian rules?? Just wondering.
I"ve got a couple springers that "honk" like a wouned goose. It is odd but they shoot just fine. My theory is that the piston seal is either geting too soft or too worn. Compression is still good going forward (parachute seal inflates) but air is getting past the seal during the cocking stroke causing a seal flutter or honking sound.
I have some similar NP rifles purchased within the last 5 years here in the US. I'm getting MV ~750fps with the CPHP 14.3 grain.
IMO.accuracy is more important than MV. I bet the rifle is a real pleasure to shoot at 600fps.If you could bump MV 100-150fps you migjt not like the harsher shot cycle. If you are happy with the accuracy now I wouldn't spend too much time/effort trying for more MV.
