I love break barrels and under lever air guns.

When I got into adult air rifles in the 80s there were nothing but spring piston. I went through lots of them and since have gone down just about every rabbit hole that I could find.

Had lot's of fun and bought and sold many airguns,  cannot even count all the different ones.

Now, I have gone back to some basics. I went bb gun crazy with a ton of them. and just lately bought a low powered springer. I like shooting the springer for the zen you must master. It's a true statement that when you master the spring gun (snatch the pebble from master's hand) you can shoot anything better.

I are ignerunt.  I have no aptitude for anything mechanical.  I have ruined many cars, boats, bikes, and guns in my time.  I periodically contemplate getting a PCP but I've learned my lesson.  I'm partial to pumpers and I keep swearing that I'm never buying another springer but they keep showing up in the mail.

Townshend Whelan only got it partially right.  Yes only accurate rifles are interesting.  But only fickle, challenging, frustrating rifles are addictive.

Is anyone's favorite rifle a .177 r9? I think maybe ed.

Seems like most .177 shooters like the hw50 over the hw95.

I have an HW95 in .177 and have been very happy with it. During its initial break in I had my reservations on whether or not it was worth it but once it settled in it became a fantastic shooter. Can't say it's my overall favorite, but it's among my favorite dozen or so springers. They all have their purpose. My HW95 is my go to pesting break barrel.

I have owned an R-9 and an HW95, never had a HW50 (yet)...
But... my HW98 is a SWEET ONE. 
Very close second is my FWB 124 Deluxe

My elbows are toast from years of wrenching so springers are out of the question. My last springer a TX 200 was adopted by a fellow GTA member. Pcps are it for me now.

She is a sweetie, not sure about the "short" stoke, it's all original and seems standard cocking length.
Not a power-house either, rather slow by today's standards, but accurate as can be!

I just bought my first Spring Under Lever Diana 460mag / in .22. I couldn't be more happy with it. Looks like and feels like a real firearm with the power to boot. I also ordered a Beeman R9 in .177( it hasn't arrived yet but, I cant wait.)

You're gonna love that R9, I bought one in .22 last summer and shoot I it more than all of my other air rifles.

I almost got the .22 R9 but seeing I have the Diana 460 in .22 I wanted to try the .177. I could see a Beemanr9 .22 in my future

I have the Mauser K98 version it is the next best thing to PCP. Nice trigger and shot cycle for sure.

Mines .22 cal. Love that gun.
It loves the cheap Crosman Premier HP's as well as the domes.
Gotta love a cheap date.

I spend a great deal of my hunting time carrying a break barrel air rifle.  I’ve got the sawed-off Crosman Fire for early season squirrel hunts from a boat.  My un-chopped Fire has killed quite a few tree rats too.  All of my Hatsans see hunting or pesting duty.  Until I eradicated the cotton mouths around here my .25 caliber Striker loaded with Crow Magnums was my go-to snake charmer.  I just received the mod 135 the last day of squirrel season this spring.  I’m really looking forward to getting out in the woods with this gun and seeing what it can do.

Does anyone else hunt with break barrels?

I'm droolin' over Scotts 98. Shot a friends awhile back, sweet.

I just ordered a Cometa 400 USC .177 spriger from Keystone Airguns. The short one with the muzzle break. Also got his tune and up-grade gold trigger. The last two rifles I bought were both used Mendozas. One made for RWS, a RM2003 dual cal. and a made for Crosman RM577. The 577 has a mucked up stock. I have a Mendoza stock from a failed project to refinish for it.
