Got REAL Lucky....(I Think...)

So an ebayer put up a "Non-working Norica air rifle..."
Didn't say what the problem was, even tho I inquired.
But, I'm a sucker for non-working air guns.

I actually WON the critter for a song..........

I received it today. NOT the best packing job in the world: A rifle in a quite oversized box....
NO padding or bubble wrap....just a gun flopping around loose in a BIG box......
BUT........
It was NOT a non-working Norica....it is a beautiful, double trigger Mendoza RM 2000 !!
And it works...perfectly!!
I LIKE Mendoza air rifles!

Every now and then, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn.......

 I try to only follow Ebay auctions way out of my price range LOL Or I end up with a bunch of Daisys or the like, not that that was a bad thing LOL

Ron, maybe he sent you the wrong gun. I have several Mendozas. I like them and the double trigger. They made a couple of models for Croaman but Crosman had a single blade trigger put in them.

I have both the Mendoza made Cromans RM577 and 377, RM3000 .22 with a T.H. stock, RM600, RM2800 and 2000 repeaters and a Mendoza made Hammerli X2 dual cal. I got from MM at FD. The two barrels slide into a shroud like barrel. You can google all of them.

The Crosmans and RM 600 are .177, the rest .22

Is your 2000 a repeater like mine? They have changed the model numbers a few time.

Some people don't like the way the barrels attach to the barrel block. I've not had any problem with them. Same as a BSA barrel, at least the Gamo made ones.

I got to Goolgeing Mendozas and a RM2003 dual cal. popped up on Ebay. It and the one I have are the only ones I've seen with both barrels. Guy wanted $250. I offered $200, he took it. Got it for $250 tax/shpg. Couldn't resist. Comes sans open sights with a Leapers Golden Image 4x32 mildot scope. When you see these and Beeman RS2 dual cal in the classified or at a pawn shop they usually are missing onre of the barrels.

The Made for Crosman Mendoza RM377 is also .177. I have 2 fine examples of them.
The picture makes the top one look smaller but they are exactly the same size.

Bill, is the bigger one a 577. My 377 came without the sight removed and a Gamo 4x32. Now it has an old vintage Weaver C4 2x20 scope. I got 577 from a GTA guy. He removed the sights and put steel barrel weight on it and refinished the stock with dark gray paint. It came with a CP 3-9x40 AO scope that's still on it.

Ron, I found the repeater part works good with RWS Superdomes and pretty good with RWS Miesters. Other .22 ammo is sometimes to big. Sometimes you have to help it, help being when I cock it I look at the top of the breach block or feel it with a finger to insure the pellet is flush with the top of the block. If not when you close the barrel it might chop the back of the pellet off. You can help it by pulling down the ammo forwarder and let go and it will pop the pellet on up into the breach. I keep my finger over the pellet or it might fly out of the breach. Some times I squirt a little Pell oil along the gap at the bottom of the tubular magazine. When new they kick hard and shoot about 900 fps. Long receiver and a lot of spring in there. Fun guns.

That's like the 2003 I ordered off ebay, today it look cherry in the pics. Like I said the seller might have got his Spanish and Mexican guns mixed up and sent you the wrong gun.

If the magazine forwarder is messed up you can load pellet directly into the barrel. It looses about 20 fps.

Ron, a few things you might or might not know about Mendozas. I'm sure you saw the oil hole. There is a red painted spot on the piston that show thru the oil hole to let you know it's cocked. Just behind the piston seal in a narrow place in the piston for a felt oiler.

The newer ones have plastic front sight with no schoud and a plastic rear sight with adjustment wheels. The older ones have a schouded front sight and metal rear slider type sight or a Weaver like rear on the 11mm groves

Doubtful...he has no other listings even close...either pen or closed....

No, they are both 377. They are exactly the same size but the camera angle makes the one on top look smaller.

10-4 0n both 377. On closer inspection of the pics the RM 2003 dual cal I ordered is a Mendoza re-branded RWS.

I think some sellers list as nonworking to eliminate returns.
