You have to turn the tank on slowly, pay attention and turn it off. It is not rocket science. Regulators to make sure you don't overpressure your gun are simply unneccesary for the task at hand.I've used them on permanently fixed test systems requiring consistency normal airguns don't really need. Most will run in a specific PSI range effectively and it isn't too tough to accomplish that with no internal or external regulator.I'd get a good piece of used Leupold glass with the savings that will pay you back anytime you want to have your money back. It takes a lot of trick port work and tuning to get a 900 psi system to work well as that is a very low peak pressure and tough to get the valve to be quick enuf as valve duration goes up as pressure drops.
