Of course you knew I had to make a few extra and try them, right....
They weight 8.6 gr. (SD=0.0096), fit in my .357 cal Hayabusa, and launch at 1747 fps (58 FPE).... They are 30% Cubic infill (same as the Chess Pieces), if you bumped them up to 100%, they would be a bit over 10 gr.... The Cedar 2x4 was shot at point blank range, the pellet penetrated just over halfway, and the pellet leaves a single hole at 20 ft., so it isn't coming apart on launch....

58 FPE in about an inch and a half. That's almost 500 lbs average force. Not bad for a 3D print. If you have some of your ballistic soap/gel that would be a interesting image.

I see you are now on to high speed filament compression testing (to go along with your tension tests I assume)! Maybe you can sell the idea gamo… for their “fps” specs
Nice work

More like less than an inch.... over 800 lbs.... The area is 0.1 CI, so about 8000 psi compression....

Point blank into soap as requested.... Came completely apart.... Shot to the left is "typical" HP slug (caliber unknown)....
Let's just say I wouldn't want to get hit by that at close range.... Short range pesting, anyone?....

Well, I was goin to suggest that a BB in the tip would help it expand, but Wow, never mind.

Penetration about an inch, the biggest fragment of the one I dug out after taking the photo was about 1/4 of the skirt.... Only others were a few tiny fragments.... I guess most of it went sideways on impact.... Using 100% infill (no internal voids) they might stay together better?....

I hope the PLA doesn't foul the rifling.

6 shots is all I'm planning.... I haven't checked the rifling yet, but I will....
Maybe I could use carbon fibre filled filament to polish the bore?....
