Bara 1866Jr. Weaver Rail ad on.

 I saw Bara has a CO2 Rifle that is similar in looks as the 1866's but it has a short weaver rail to add a light weight optic to. Hmm This could bring this simple single stroke plinker to another level

 I did a temporary test fit with thin double sticky foam tape, when I realized that was working better than open sights were for me I went further and drilled and tapped holes to gently screw the weaver rail to the receiver.
 
 Off to testing first did a sight in with some Ruger hollow points as they seem to do well in pumpers, well after 5 different wad cutters and hollow points I see a tin of Crosman pointed hmm, well darn if they did'nt group with some promise. Mad sight adjustments and then shot this 5 shot group at 10m  1 flyer to show group size

 Well this tinker toy has obsessed me, seeing good results then not repeating them, reminded me I may be a bit sloppy in my shooting form and need to pay attention to everything that I may be doing to throw a shot.
 I have added a barrel stabilizer in the shroud, and a lower pic rail to the pump arm to eliminate arm flex. Shot free hand standing with the most repeatable results, so I have determined this plinker to be hold sensitive, along with the need to add time to the follow-through as we are shooting in the 300 fs range, so everything a long range shooter must obey, I must also even at 10m.

 Since I had a rail why not try a bipod LOL

 Targets shot from Stinger  Rest, I need more trigger time with the bipod , but it is showing promise. I really wish I had gone inside the clamshell and did some trigger work before anything else, but it is predictable but heavy and the gun needs a firm hold but not too tight it seems.

 I have this .32 cal barrel liner and that CO2 called me and said it wants it is that wrong

I've got one of these in a box. Got it on sale. Only shot a few times. Did you do any trigger mods, James?

That co2 version has ejecting bullet style pellet casings! That is sweet!

If memory serves, the umarex legends cowboy rifle will work with pellets despite being branded a bb gun.

I watched Rick's unboxing review on the C02 model this morning. He was racking the shells out the top. It's cool but I wonder how long it would take me to lose 10 shells?

That's the reason I'll never own one. I know for a fact that I would lose half of them before I finished the first cartridge. Coming from the reloading world I know how hard it is to keep up with brass cases.

Yeah thats a game I am willing to play.  Actually a selling point IMO vs the finicky pellet loading of the other 2 versions

  It is still a bit chilly in the basement for CO2 guns, but my trigger finger needs itched. Time for Jr. to come out to play a bit today, Warning if this goes good I may advance to stronger medicine
