Do you capture and reshoot BBs?

I wonder how many of us capture and reshoot BBs. And if you do, how do you do it?
I trap my lead projectiles and recast them into more pellets but I've yet to reuse BBs.

I do all of my bb shooting outside and mainly for plinking at cans and other stuff. I never really gave any thought to capturing them.

Yep, that's how I've always done it with BBs. They are cheap and don't hurt the environment like lead is claimed to.

For me I don't want to risk harming my shot tubes with recycled bbs, such fine precision devices. LOL

I have been doing that for more 70 years.
It was hard to get BBs when I was in Korea, Vietnam and Berlin.

I set up a bb trap that sits within a foam tray to collect bb's. The trap is nothing special, just a recycled plastic container, with the center cut out and stuffed with rags. I use a paper clip (clamp style) to hold a target card in place, made an upside down "u" shape above center cut out to clip targets to. Some BB's will drop/rebound out, the foam tray collects those, and if any stray shots happen the foam slows them down quick. Can just as easily use carboard boxes..

As for reusing BB's, I have before. Best if reused BB's were shot from co2 or pumpers. Daisy styled lever guns have an air tube on the piston that also smacks the BB from it's seat, leaving a small circular ring in the coating. Not that it's a huge issue for a $30 bb gun, but eventually those bb's will get beat up bad. Officially it's not recommended and BB's are about the cheapest thing one can shoot.

 Back when I had a BB gun I used a cardboard box with phon books or Sears catalog as a backer and tightly wadded news paper in front to slow the impact.
 When I ran out of BBs I would break open the box and a magnet and resupply, I never reused BBs that saw can action.

My bb's go into a trap with an old folded up blanket inside.

I pick up towels at my local thrift shop. a folded towel stops any BB or pellet in my stable. And thank you guys... i thought i was the only one... lol

I collect BBs with a magnet when I dump out my trap in the wheelbarrow to sort pellets from fluff.  I used to re-shoot them, but then I mixed in some of those Marksman BBs that are a little large and more accurate out of a rifled pellet barrel, and they jam up a regular smoothbore BB gun.  And I can't tell them apart from a tarnished Crosman copper BB, so those all go into the slingshot pile. 
Someday maybe I'll shoot buck/birdshot and then recycle all those BBs for that.  Or glue them into a hollow plastic stock to add weight.  Or let them all loose on a smooth tile floor while I escape in the other direction, as comic relief.

You might do better to dump them I a large plastic tote. That way the magnet won't keep sticking to the wheelbarrow.

With it just me and Betty Lou living here, I can think of much better ways to die than being starved to death..

I only have a couple BB guns and “YES” I reclaim the BBs if shooting inside. Cannot have them mixing in with my lead in the pellet trap so I hang 2 pairs of worn out jeans and clip my target in front. Haven’t had a BB penetrate the 2nd pair yet and catch what falls in a box.

I don't, though I suppose I could-got some closed-cell foam blocks that I use as target backers/traps... From my Tanfoglio Witness 1911 blowback replica, they go in maybe 2"-just stick in there...
Only issue I could see is if they started corroding-will have to look into it when I run low on BB's...

Dirty, sand encrusted bbs I find in the dirt? No, I don't reuse those.
But I will reuse ones reclaimed in other ways where the bb didn't get nasty.

LOL... I don't look on the ground for them... like many other metals that come from the Earth... I'm just putting them back where they came from.
