Beeman 9------GP rifle.

A new chap turned up at the small bore club with a brand new Beeman made in China.  I was one of the worst rifles I have seen. The first was a Kral underlever copy of a CFX. The second was Webley Rebel and now this.  The machining on the metal work was rough like a round file. The foresight I didn't pay much attention to. The rear sight was well made but not practical. Windage relied on a slide locked with a screw and elevation relied on pushing the sight up a ramp and locking it with a screw. Not readily adjustable. There may have been some mechanism inside the site that I could not see. It dieseled badly and to load a pellet required excess pressure from the thumb and it still sat proud of the breach so that closing it crushed or shaved the skirt. I forgot to look at the barrel pivot. The scope packaged with it was a Gamo, all plastic. Even the glass seemed to be plastic. The whole thing was plastic.  I would have no objection to all plastic say with proper glass but this was a $2.00 shop job. The shop assistant fitted the scope and it was badly canted and seemed to not line up with the axis of the rifle.  So bad I wondered if it was a Chinese knock off with a Gamo insignia. Even that was shoddy. To my mind not a genuine Gamo 4 x32 and it was a short scope.
My only advise was to take it back as the whole thing was not of merchantable quality.  We will see what happens even though it was a $350.00 odd gun .
Talk about money and out the door.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a "Beeman 9------GP rifle?

It is a break barrel gas piston plastic stock air rifle. The dashes represent numbers that i can't remember

Thanks.  After a quick Google search I see quite a few Beeman numbered rifles like that.  Beeman used to stand for quality now it looks like they're running loose and free with the name.  What a shame.
