speaking of bb pistols (bb gate)

I remember the very first u tube video I saw of a co2 blow back bb pistol. Don't remember the brand but I knew already from shooting CO2 for many years that those were going to eat CO2 like crazy but I still wanted one, now I have four of them. Never tried for accuracy with any of them?

Desertplinker, If you happen to do some accuracy testing please post your results, even if no photos. I know Hard Air Magazine has done some CO2 pistol reviews, but don't recall anything in particular.

Had two of those blowback pistols, forget what the first one was and the second was a Walther PPK. Yeah, they're a bit of a gas hog in comparison to non blowback. Accuracy was nothing to write home about, but they would put a smile on your face. At the time I didn't know there was a size difference between various BB's, usually reached for Daisy's but sometimes only copperheads were available, those blowbacks shot either or about equal in my hands. Roughly pop can accuracy at 10 to maybe 15 yards was all I could manage with them (if memory serves me right).

I'm not certain, but is there even a standard benchmark for BB pistol accuracy at a certain range?

If I can hit a beer can at 25 or 30 feet with a bb gun I'm happy. I love sitting around the campfire and tossing an empty beer can out and shooting it until it's out of range. By that time I can have another empty ready to go.

I'm not going to comment on discussing accuracy and beer drinking at the same time. I can only guess. But, as far as me doing an accuracy comparison between bb pistols, at 75 years of age and never having the patience to shoot pistols, I'm the wrong guy for true accuracy with bb pistols. For me it's more the FUN factor of shooting bbs.

As much as I love my pcps, and other pellet shooters, none of them put that silly grin on my face like lobbing bbs does.

Small cat food cans to pop cans at 10-15 yards with a few flyers is the accuracy. And yes they're fun. I'm 72 and I think if I had started out on co2 bb pistols I would have never bought all these rifles. I have about 80+ springer rifles and now like 50+ co2 pistols. Proves what we say in AA, it never completely goes away. Miss Baby says it's still less than my bar tab use to be. I think see doesn't mind stepping over air guns as long as she doesn't have to step over me.

I have a bunch of the Glocks, Berettas, and revolvers as well as 11 or 12 1911's. All the 1911's are in Winchester hard cases from Daisy and the rest in four gun csaes from Walmat. Air gun detective in this forum has lots of co2 bb pistol reviews and he did one a month on 1911s.

Also they're cheaper than rifles, the mags can be both cheap and exspensive. For the coast of 4 or 5 co2 bb pistol and spare mags. you could buy a pretty nice springer rifle. Most shooters like the full size drop out magazine, as well as me, but I have found with the stick mags I end up with a lot less half full co2 carts.

My absolute favorite pistol is the Crosman 150. Yes, it is a pellet pistol but for me it is a natural point and choot. On the bb side, I bought a Umarex Peacemaker for the looks but it was so much fun, I bought the Duke version of it also. To complete the ensemble, I bought the Legends Cowboy lever action rifle too. Fun can poppers, one and all.

LOL! They sure do have a healthy bark. The Peacemaker is a bit more sedate.

I had one back in the 1980s. I have no idea what happened to it, but it's probably laying out in the woods somewhere.

  My favorite too.  Shoots 460fps at the muzzle and very accurate.  As you can see here steel soup cans don't stand a chance around here.  It rips them up at 15-20 feet.  I found this one at an estate sale for about $12 like new in the box.  It's the most powerful CO2 BB pistol I have found.  You must point it down and cock the gun each time though not a simi auto.  I guess that's why they are powerful as the spring whacks the valve nice and hard to release the co2.  I like not having any bounce back at these distances.  Most shots go right through the can with a loud smack.
