With the special going on at AoA for the .22 cal Meteor Super, I'm curious as ever to hear of any personal anecdotes about this rifle from anyone here that's gotten some trigger time? Seems there's plenty of mixed bag reviews out there all boiling down to "this is definitely not worth the $500 MSRP price tag." But for less than half that? Seems like a strong argument to give one a whirl.

I posted a review on hold sensitivity in the Bargain Gate thread. There's a general review by the fellow who does Pellets and Pistons on YouTube and the owner who loaned him the gun later reported it dropped fps from a nicked seal and visible melting from burned lube which had worked ahead. He replaced it with a TX200 seal but eventually added he would not recommend the gun. I think I came across another post which spoke to over-lubing, so I'd clean the compression tube before breaking one in. I keep looking at these, myself, despite the negatives, lol. That's me. Whatta deal!

I saw the Pellets & Pistons review as well, and it helped steer me clear of the rifle when they were selling at MSRP. But I took the plunge for $200. Received the rifle and my initial impressions as mentioned in the Bargain Gate thread was as such:

The Minelli stock alone is an amazing piece of furniture, the texturing on the wrist and forend is some the most unique I've ever seen. The high stock comb makes for better scoped shooting, but open sights are doable is you slide your face forward enough. The bluing is strong and consistent on the compression tube and barrel. Pot metal trigger guard and end cap. The plastic trigger and sights are what they are, but I will say that the fiber optics are really clean. The trigger pull is not what I'd call two stage, rather a "first" stage slack followed by a fairly clean "second" wall that's predictable. The break is not exceptionally crisp but certainly not mushy either. Recoil is stout as expected for for a gas ram. My rifle dieseled during a handful of test shots, even after swabbing the barrel before firing so these guns are definitely generously lubed. In the hands, the rifle is incredibly well balanced and the ergonomics are very comfortable. Will need to get some distance shots in but so far, I think this an awesome piece for the price.



I haven't shot nearly enough or over a chronograph to determine if the FPS is where it should be. But AoA provided a five shot test result sheet (incorrectly labeled for a Brocock) that stated an average of 654 with spread of 10 fps.

Did you ask AOA by chance on whether they're gonna offer gas piston replacement parts?  I noticed the Krale 88 and 105 dollar Evo versions are spring so for those it'd be easy to obtain a 3rd party spring at least.

Someone opened one up and said it was a Gamo piston, which might make sense. If only Gamo would sell spares.
