I'm going to have to buy one, I guess. I'm beginning to think slinging steel is just as addictive as lobbing lead.
I have a like new one that I bought sitting in a box and was going to sell it until I finally opened up the box and wow it was just like new looking. Have not shot it yet. I bought a complete front site insert kit for it off the Bay.
Sounds like Ed wants one..

Before I place the add on the classifieds thought I would discuss the possibility here. I would not want much for it.

I am planning a big bb shoot off very soon, with paper targets so accuracy is going to be part of the shoot. If the 499 blows everything else out of the water I may get hooked.JMHO, but I think you owe it to yourself to try out Daisy's Most Accurate BB gun before you give it up. They shoot competitions with it! again, JMHO

I'm not really chasing ultimate accuracy with a bb. I see my bb shooters as fun machines. I shredded a can at 21 yards with my 4x crossbow scoped 35 over the weekend and that's plenty good enough for me. My Red Ryders are for faster shooting and they work well for that. A muzzle loader just isn't what I'm looking for.

Shredding cans is at the top of my bb target list, but here in the yard I cannot shred cans as it makes too much noise for the neighbors. I have to punch paper because it's quiet. I have two PCP pellet shooters that will print tiny groups at 25 yards but I am all about bbs right now. Ed, You need a 499 so when you get to that thin piece of can preventing a final cut in half, you can move in with the 499 and get the final cut.
Steve, don't forget these are low powered for 5 meter paper targets. Don't know myself how they would work on cans, but I have heard of a few that put the cobalt327 spring upgrade in them for more power.
