I know this is Daisy gate, but... Rion mentioned the Oktoberfest, that's one I've been eyeballing. I'm not certain if it's meant to shoot lead or steel shot (4.4mm?), but have read those Crosman BB's feed and shoot without issue. Also the 400fps rating may very well be for lead...

Then there's the Mosin CO2 rifle and sawed off version that looks to be fun, I'd lean towards the full sized but always unavailable when I go looking and have extra funds.

That red star game looks to be good fun. For a bit of competitive fun between two, we grab a clean sheet of cardboard and with a sharpie draw ~3/4" circles (tracing center of a cutoff wheel) in two vertical lines of five similar to a shooting tree, and try to land five or ten shots within. Distance is usually 7 to 10 yards and whomever gets the most in wins. I'm sure something similar can be printed off easily enough...

Got one already and put a Cobalt327 spring in it. It's a good shooter and fits like it should.

I did try the marksman BBs, which you are correct, are larger. in fact  while the weight of regular BBs is around 5.2 gr, the marksman weigh down the scale to the tune of 5.6 gr! they unfortunately did not do well either, even though they flew at a leisurely 670 fps. Now i may revisit that project, as i did realize that the 760 barrel i used  (that came from an older 760, one with a screwed on rear sight) had the holes from the sights go completely through the bore!, yup, if the rear sight is removed, there are holes that go all the way down the bore. So maybe the hole at the bore side was causing some sort of effect on the accuracy of the gun. I'm going to order a new 760 barrel, cut it down, clean the "crown" and drill a new transfer port and try again. i think this time i will also install a power adjuster on that gun, and drop the power to see if groups improve.

i thought about doing it with a qb also but cant find anyone would could wear the rifling down to a mirror finish. I am afraid that the bore then will be to wide for the BBs available. but then that means that i can drill it out bigger... like .25 cal or bigger and the just shoot ball bearings... (devious smile...). Oh wait, thay invented that already... like in the 1600s...lol

That's just awesome and hopefully all goes well.

I can say a standard Daisy BB will roll down most .177cal barrel lands. Maybe filling the grooves in completely would give smooth bore like performance? Not sure how to do that (maybe a hard wax or lead?), but fully polishing out the grooves would most likely be too loose for BB's like you said. Funny thing about drilling a bore to larger size (or re-barreling) A few years back I found 6mm bearings sold in bulk, sold as slingshot ammo... Bet everyone can put 2 an 2 together, but I never got them moving fast enough for decent trajectory on CO2 and the short barrel I was testing... Probably best as standard BB's are risky enough.

Today I had a thought for the Chief, to try and just magnetize the entire qb bolt, not sure it would work, but would be one less part to figure out. Also was thinking to make an adapter of brass that fits into the qb receiver that would act as the loading shelf, drilled for the transfer port passage and machined to accept commonly available smooth bore barrels/shot tubes that are just pressed and pinned in place. From there just make a gromet that fits the barrel O.D. and barrel band I.D., not sure if I'll run with it but have ideas brewing.

Cobalt327 has some neat stuff and is knowledgeable. Helped me to warm up my RR a while back. I bought the bits to drill the air tubes, never got around to it. Next time I'll just buy a kit or two if Cobalt has them available. Still have my caulk gun spring compressor and 1/2" aluminum tube cut to fit around the spring retainer/sight (to take the load off) when taking down the lever guns.

I did the same thing. I bought the bit and never used it. Mine is plenty warm with the spring swap.

I love shooting cans with the RR. Still have not even shot the brand new 35 I bought, or the new 25. Time to get out since the weather is finally nice again. Too hot here in the summer to shoot. This part of Arizona is 110 plus all summer long.

Same here in middle Georgia. I shoot early or late in the summer. I shoot every chance I get this time of year. We are lucky to have quite a few nice days all through the winter.

I have an ac opening in one of the walls of the Red Shed but I had the AC unit in the window last year. Next year I plan on closing that opening down to fit the AC unit so I can crack that window and shoot out of it. I have a 35yd range set up on that side of the building.

A shooting window doesn't need to be very big. I would think a small bathroom window would be the largest one would need. Mine is a full size house window but I may make an insert that I can put in it when it's open to make the opening smaller. A piece of 2" insulation foam board with a 1'x1' hole would work nicely.
