No email notifications since the update

I got only one notification on the 6th at 3:30 PM and NONE since then, all my settings in my profile are still set right as far as I can see. How can this be fixed?

Since the weekend update, I can get on here and some other gates, I can't access the Air Gun and/or Back Room gates, among others. I get a message of no URL and a 404 error, whatever that means.  Somebody please fix this for my Tablet.

I hadn't thought about it but I've not received any email notification of personal messages either, though I used to, and all my profile settings appear to be correct.

I am fairly certain they screwed something up. The only other thing it could be is our email providers stopping them for some reason like identifying them as spam now and not delivering them to us. my spam filter on my end isn't doing it, I checked!

I can tell you it's not a forum wide issue. I'm getting my notifications. But I have alerted our programmer and asked him to look into it.

Clear your cache and browsing history. Delete any shortcuts to the forum. Use your choice of search engines to locate the forum and log in. Save a new link.
Afterwards you may have to go in and reset your notifications setting.

I have never heard of cache or history stopping someone from sending me an email


 I have no trouble accessing the forum at all. I still can access it directly or from all links GTA previously sent me. There are no notifications going from GTA to any of my devices including my phone either. It's just as if I had no subscribed threads.

Sorry Dan... I guess that was i kind of blanket suggestion for those having issues accessing gates. The only notifications I've ever received from GTA to my email were the ones if someone PM'd me. I log on to the forum often enough that I don't need notifications.

I'm sorry you guys are having problems and I hope it gets sorted out.

I used to get notifications in my email when I received a pm.  I no longer do.  I checked junk, spam, and trash - nothing from GTA there.  It's strange.

I can access the wanted gates with my phone or laptop but can't access the desired gates, et al with my tablet.  I've logged off and back in to no avail.  {sigh}

Thank you for trying DAVE, but his was a general canned answer and dismissive answer for me and my situation, and not helpful at all in my case. It appears to me that it IS a problem that don't have control over and that I can't do anything about, and he won't even look for the problem.

  Even though my settings were set right as far as I see, I cleared all of them, cleared all browsing history and cache (even though I was/am sure that wasn't the problem that causes no incoming GTA emails only) signed out closed and reopened my browser and then signed back in and reset and saved them them and that didn't fix the issue.

  I have just started bookmarking threads I want to revisit but it sure was nice having the notification that had links to take me to the exact place in the thread that I left off instead of me scrolling and scrolling every time just to find the spot and see if there is anything new added. I use the Show posts since last visit and Show new replies to your posts links found at the top of each page but they don't jump back to where I left off like the notification links did.

I suspect it is something with how the new alert feature is setup, I was getting an annoying audible ding on every new page I loaded at first with it on so I clicked on it to hopefully shut off the dinging. I have clicked on it since and neither choice caused my email notifications to resume though.

To see if it would make any difference I disabled all ALERTS again yesterday, NOPE I still get NO email notifications even though my profile settings choices requests emails.

I may be wrong but I don't think the issue is with your profile settings as far as notifications. I believe it is with each individual thread notification. If you want to follow a thread, go to it and select Notify. An option pops up asking how you want to be notified. The software update MAY have affected any threads you were following. I can't guarantee that but that would answer the question of notifications not showing up.

Click on "My Messages" to open your message area.  On the left side is "Preferences".  Under that is "Change Settings".  Click on that to display your settings.  Make sure everything is the way you want it then go to the lower right and click on Change Settings.  It may be when the update was done something in your settings was buggered.  This will save a copy of the way you think they are.  I did this and got my first pm notification yesterday since the update.  This MAY have fixed my issue.  Time will tell.

PMs are the only notifications I have set to receive. It's verified that I do receive them. I also get an alert on my cell phone that I have received a message. This comes through my e-mail.

We will see if it works now. On the threads I went to there was no Notify button they all had an (UN)Notify button though so I I selected (UN)Notify unchecked email and saved it, reloaded the thread and selected Notify and selected by email, and saved it! Now we will find out if that helped. Thanks EZ for the thought and suggestion!
